My eyes are very dark and also deep set so everyday sun doesn't really bother them unless I am driving directly into a setting sun in the evening.

However I started wearing sunglasses regularly in my mid 30s just as a basic precaution for good eye health. I think that is why I have fewer crows feet than most people of my age today. I don't wear sunscreen or use products containing it but I do protect my eyesight.

I pretty much wear them every time I go outside unless it's a dark cloudy day, raining/snowing or night time because my eyes are sensitive to bright light and the older I get the more sensitive they become.

Yes, I do. I have green eyes, and light colored eyes (green, blue, and hazel) are more sensitive to light. Even indoors (like in a restaurant) I can't sit facing a window if it's really bright outside. I have three pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. When I'm not wearing them, one pair is always in my car, one pair in my purse, and the third pair here in the house for when I go outside into the yard.

They are literally falling apart, one lens falls out on a regular basis. But I wear them because the prescription still works, and I don't want to ruin my good glasses by working in them.

My glasses have transition lenses. When I step outside, they darken quickly to adjust to the amount of light. I had my choice of colors to change it to. The biggest drawback is that they take a few minutes to clear up once I am back indoors.

Yes I do. Glare bothers me, both day and night. I don't think it did until I started wearing contact lens back in my teens & they seemed to make my eyes more sensitive. Now I don't wear them but the light still bothers me. And it's for good eye health too.

A GF gave me a pr of cheap sunglasses, she was a really pretty lady, always shopping for new trends. I would pack a gym bag during the week with my Oakleys and run on my lunch break, then on weekends, wear the "El Cheapos" to run with my DH.....and I'd get physically ill....as in gonna barf. He teased me that running with him made me "sick". I wore them 2 weekends in a row then looked it up on the internet....poor lens quality...not visible to us at first, can make you ill. :0) So after THAT I wear high quality sunglasses, ONLY! and I'm fine.

Ocular migraines are a big problem for me right now. They started with a tick bite on the back of my neck a couple of years ago and got a lot worse with another tick bite (there were several more in between) early this month. With the sun reflecting off snow, I sometimes wear sunglasses in the house. I have cardboard covering several windows until I can install shades. Even at night, I can't sit facing a lamp.

Fluorescent lighting makes me feel sick and can bring on an ocular migraine, and too much staring at the computer monitor can do the same thing. Working part-time is out of the question right now because every office, library, etc., has fluorescent lighting. When I play Scrabble at the library these days, I do so wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap, and one game is all I can handle.

I've never heard that eye colour is a factor in light sensitivity but I have to wear sunglasses all the time and I have green eyes. My sister has brown eyes and she never wears sunglasses.

My eyes are very sensitive to light, and what best solves my problem is a visor. Even with sunglasses on, sometimes I need to hold my hand at my brows to block the rays coming in from an angle. I wish I would find a sun visor that didn't look so stupid on me. I want one that is short and just covers that area between the brow and the glasses.

I know I should, I have green eyes, and have a couple of perscription ones, but always forget to wear them. DH gets ocular migraines and has to wear sunglasses all the time when outside too. We were just talking about it yesterday when running errands. I was driving in bright sunlight without them. He asked if the glare off the windows or chrome of other cars bothered me. Not at all, but with him he would get a migraine if he didn't wear his sunglasses.

Nope. Eyes are light brown and I wear a baseball cap always when the sun is out pulled down so my upper face is shaded. I have small RX glasses but they are not good for peripherical vision. At the beach, I wear sunglasses over my regular glasses.

I use the sunglasses that fit over my regular glasses and love them. I keep mine in the car as I feel more comfortable with them on, even when the sun is not bright. Hen I lived in the north I would always wear sunglasses as the glare off the snow was bad.

My son wears glasses, but would not wear sunglasses as he didn't like to keep switching back and forth, and the ones that fit over his regular glasses really help now.

Yes, it's smart to do so just for general eye health. I have light coloured eyes and a very strong correction so it's imperative that I do so. I started wearing them in my early 20's because I hated the feeling of my eyes squinting up when I didn't. I still hate that feeling. I even wear them on cloudy days if there is any sense of glare off the roads.

Scott - This style with side lens might help you. I have several pair including 'rugged' ones to wear when pruning/gardening for added protection. There are also ones with solid shields or wrap around ones.

There is a form of melanoma called "ocular melanoma." Wearing sunglasses is like wearing sunscreen for your eyes. Melanoma isn't just skin cancer.

Always! I can't stand the sun. I even wear them on overcast days, because the entire white/gray sky is too bright for me. I honestly think I'm allergic to the sun. On bright sunny days, it's all I can do to get motivated to get moving. On overcast/gray days I'm full of energy. I'm not kidding.
