HELP!!! Exterior trim color help needed!
Comments (5)Hi kled, I really think - especially with such a large lovely structure - that this is a job for a professional designer. Having gotten that out of the way, I recently replaced all my fascia (and replacing gutters too) which was painted a dark red. It looked okay on my red-orange brick house, but I wanted something lighter colored. I finally chose a sand-tone color. But, how did I choose? Well, I took a photo of a wall that was fairly representative, in decent light. And then I looked at it on my computer to see if the colors seemed pretty accurate. Then I loaded the photo into a graphics program and "selected" the red fascia and gutters and experimented with substituting with different colors - via the graphics program. I'd like to tell you that I'm completely happy with the sand-tone color I ended up with, but the jury is still out on that. But, I think I'll like it (Once I get all the gutters & downspouts installed and trim painted). There are so many ways to go with color - really hard to advise someone else....See MoreNeed help picking exterior cottage colors! Help!
Comments (13)I noticed the same thing Sylvia did; the house examples posted all have the total body painted one color. Your house currently seems to have more trim than it does house. I think the grays and greens posted would look great on your house if the V-shaped area under the roofline (not the facia board) is painted the same as the body. You could still keep the trim white. Please come back and show us the completed project....See MoreNeed Help Quckly on choosing Exterior Color and Landscape Help
Comments (3)It's not the kind of porch that is conducive to having a lot of planting in front of it. It needs a broad landing itself and a nice wide walk to it. The walk should stay at least 6' away, min,, from the house in order to leave sufficient room for foundation plantings. "Dark grey with white trim" sounds harsh to me.I like house colors in the medium grey/taupe range with white trim. They can have a tint of color so long as it is not too powerful. The fourth example down is nearly a reversal with the body being the light color and the trim darker, but I think it works well, the house being light grey, not white. Explore Google Images as there are all sorts of house paint combinations....See MoreHelp! I need help choosing exterior paint colors!
Comments (0)We are wanting to paint the side on our house but leave the brick as is for economical reasons. I am stumped on what colors to choose that will also compliment the brown brick and roof. I am wanting to do a darker siding color and a light trim color. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate!!...See MoreDanielle Walker
