I like fuzzy or wooly pillows w/leather furniture

Can you show a picture of the furniture with the current pillows, so people can make suggestions and show them to you at the sites they're being sold on?

The pillows don't look too comfy. Are they down-filled? I really think that's best for leather furniture, otherwise they don't have the right "heft" and slide down constantly.

But I'm having a hard time focusing on your pillows, because the views out your windows look amazing!

IdaClaire, the pillows are foam filled and maybe that is the problem. However, I am not sure the pattern is right for the rug.

Wow what a view. I agree with IdaClaire, down-filled pillows just lay better on leather furniture. I might suggest picking 2 colors you like and going with several pillows in those colors. A suede, coarse nubby weave, or faux fur would work well. I might suggest a larger tray for your coffee table or move the current tray to the nesting table and covered dish to the coffee table. Love your new furniture. Very welcoming.

You may not like the pilllows, but I think the colors go well with the rug. Pretty room.

I would choose some solid color pillows. It looks like your rug has color elements of brick and beige. I would choose two brick colored pillows and one beige.

I agree down inserts or synthetic down would look better. I think the current pillows are ok with the rug because it pulls colors from the rug and the scale is different. I think you could do better. I'd still follow the pull related colors from the room and pick a different scale or solid.

What colors are in the rug? It's hard to tell on my monitor. Since your furniture is dark I'd try and find pillows with mostly the lighter color(s) of the rug.

Your old tray didn't stand out to me in a negative way, but I like the new one better.

Sheeisback, Here are a couple of views that might have better color.

I would add some ivory or cream pillows to lighten things up and tie in with the rug. :) Beautiful room! Picture from Pinterest for an example.

I think the pillows work with the rug but if you are not crazy about them, find another print/pattern in similar colors. I disagree with solid pillows (or at least ALL solid pillows) because you have an expanse of "solid" (the furniture itself). You could bring in a throw for texture and pattern (if you find a patterned one) also. INMO, down pillows are best - period, leather furniture or not. They fluff, they lay better and if the pillows are actually used, I think they feel better. Pretty room!!

I buy down inserts (6.00-9.00/piece, depending on size) and velvet covers (Sanela, several different colors) at IKEA. The velvet makes them stay put on leather. And then I exchange them with the seasons, e.g. linen, wool, faux fur.

timam61 I have been searching but can't seem to find a pattern that hits the sweet spot. I think the geometric pattern seems too harsh for the tone of other things in the room.

Nosoccermom, where do you purchase your inserts? Do they have feathers in them?

With the very dark furniture, these pillows give a somewhat "dead" look to the room. The problem is that this room has a very restricted color palette of basically two colors, and I would like to see you break out of that mold. Since you have green plants in the room, perhaps patterned pillows with green and terracotta shades might give a more lively look to the room.

Those pillows are really nice, but they seem too mod for the rest of the equally nice furnishings. I agree w/ softer pillows & solid, not patterned fabric - something w/ a sheen or texture, perhaps - nubby linen or silk dupioni? The rug has so much movement to it, it should be the star.

I buy my feather inserts at IKEA, the Fjadrar.

Sometimes the larger size for the smaller covers to really stuff them in.

Snow Bird.....I have the same rug! My furniture is charcoal gray and I have several sets of pillows picking up the colors from the rug. One is a rusty orange (which also picks up colors in the artwork above the sofa) and the other is the tan/gold. I have another set with a contemporary floral print with gray, gold and rust.

I don't think wine red would be a difficult color to find in home decor. That's supposed to be a silk dupioni fabric - Google image result, I've no idea of source...

Yes! I really like these, especially the cream-colored fringed pillows. Some will say you now have too many pillows on your sofa, but I have five on my sofa and like the way it looks full and welcoming. We can lounge on the pillows, or throw them aside if they're in the way. Good job!
