Is this dress ok for a wedding guest?
Comments (4)I agree. I don't see how you could be overdressed. In fact, you may want to have a shawl to have over your shoulders. I think it's a great dress and if you can pull it off, wear it and enjoy the wedding. If others aren't dressed as nicely, that won't reflect on you....See MoreNiece's wedding - dress shopping
Comments (20)Thank you all for taking the time to reply - I've been so busy at work today I haven't had time to check back much. Re: the first green RL dress... I didn't think of to mention it earlier, but looking at that photo made me realize I don't wear or particularly care for that type of drapy neckline. I think it's probably because I'm fairly large busted, and don't need any more oompf in that area. :) I love the second green / black patterned one but it's probably not what I'm searching for for a June wedding. I also really like the floral one. I seem to be at a stage in my life where I second guess a lot of what I like, or I think I like - wondering "am I too old for that??" - but then sometimes I tend to sway too far to the 'safe' side and end up dressing too old. These are two more that I like.... the first is from ModCloth. Also comes in a deep sapphire blue. And I can't get a picture to load of this one, sorry. http://www.bhldn.com/product/eleanor-dress...See MoreWhat do you think of the black wedding dress trend?
Comments (40)Some cultures wear red and I have seen some gorgeous red dresses on say yes to the dress. I think it is totally up to the bride. It's her big day. My dress, so many years ago, was white from the waist up with sheer long sleeves and a very pale blue from the waist down. No floofy, puffy, anything. It was straight with a light blue satin ribbon at the waist. My niece had her brides maids in beautiful black a line knee length dresses and the flowers were long stem multi color Calla lilies. So pretty....See MoreMore on wedding dress shopping...
Comments (60)I don't have a problem with the bride trying to generally set a tone for the wedding...especially these days when weddings can vary so much, I think it helps the guests understand what to expect. (My yoga teacher's daughter got married last week in a national park and the formal wedding pics were being taken in the middle of a river!) But I would have a problem if she told us all to dress as Dr. Seuss characters or some such thing....See Morefiveholetarget
