We had natural maple in our previous condo. I personally did not find them too yellow.

I read on GW somewhere that your lighting can affect how yellow they appear. Fluorescent light supposedly makes them look yellow?. I wanted natural maple too, we ended up choosing a very light stain, a shade than natural. It will be 4 yrs this year, so far, they don't look yellow. I love natural maple too, our last kitchen had a medium stained oak, and we wanted something lighter and brighter, but my husband didn't want white so we went with the light maple. We're happy with our choice.

My daughter has natural maple cabinets in her kitchen. They are are 17 years old. They don't look too yellow to me.

If they yellow, it may be that an oil based sealer was put on them.

We had natural maple shaker cabinets for 17 years, in SoCal with lots of sunlight in the kitchen. Loved them for years but then hated the way they oxidized to an orangey-yellow.

We bought a house that had natural maples cabinets and floors installed around 1996. The rooms got a lot of sun. We replaced everything due to the yellow/orange color (high school basketball court).

We have maple shakers in my mom's house. We put them in over 15 years ago.

They have a honey stain which is basically one stain up from natural. No yellowing they look the same as the pictures above.

Does anyone have a picture of the oxidized maple cabinets? I guess I could paint them after 17 years.. Thanks again for the input everyone.
