Comments (6)Put the grates (upside down) in a zip lock bag(s) with about 1/2 cup amonia and leave overnight. Then use a wire brush, tooth brush or something like that and you should be able to easily brush off the burned on gunk. I just did this and it worked great. I'm going to try to remember to put them in the DW more often to maybe avoid this process....See MoreHow are you cleaning your glass top stove?
Comments (54)I have a Kitchenaid range with a white glass top. I have been religious about cleaning it after every use with either one of the cleaners made for it or using a razor blade and liquid Soft Scrub or, for stubborn stains, Barkeeper's Friend. In spite of this, in less than 2 years, both of the burners that I use the most have developed a slight brownish discoloration that will not come off. This stove was expensive and I hate for it to look dirty when it isn't. I'm wishing now that I had just gotten one with a black top....See MoreRecommended cleaning for glass top stoves

Now I use it weekly, or more often, and am very pleased. I got it at Home Depot, 28oz. for about $7, but have used it for a year and still have about 2/3 of a bottle left....See Morecleaning glass top stove
Comments (3)Wow. How about heating the plastic with a blow dryer or a heat gun until it's soft and scraping it with a plastic scraper? In a pinch, a credit card might do the trick but a scraper with an edge would do a better job. Get what you can up and use a soft abrasive cleaner (bar keepers friend) for the residual....See More- 9 years ago
