Pendants/Chandeliers for a black kitchen

We're having a new home built and have finished making the builder selections. We've chosen black cabinets. The home is a totally open floor plan where the kitchen is open to the family room. We are planning for two chandeliers over the island.

(Are they pendants or are they chandeliers? for another discussion)

We certainly haven't pinned down what we'd like to do over the island (and would love input). My immediate question is that because of the black upper cabinets, if we choose black or bronzed materials, will the lights get lost and disappear into the background? Does that matter?

An example of what we were possibly thinking is below. (though the adjoining family room will have a globe shaped chandelier, too). Anyhow, the main question is whether the black will be lost or should be.
