Who are your Rose Survivors?
Comments (16)Madame Caroline Testout (very old HT). It survived in a neighbor's back yard even though: It was completely overgrown and smothered inside of a blackberry thicket. It was growing in almost complete shade, under several trees as well as the blackberry bush. The house was empty for 7 years, so I know it never got any water other than rain, or any other care. Nonetheless, it grew and bloomed - it climbed up one of the trees, and when it bloomed I could see the amazingly huge pink blossoms from my kitchen window, two doors down the street. When a rose loving lady bought the house, I told her about it - she did not even know it was there! When I showed it to her, she was astonished to see the huge blooms peeking out of the blackberry thicket. We dug out the blackberries, and the two (!) MCT rose bushes did not have any disease. I rooted cuttings, and now it is thriving in my garden, and also two other places in her garden. Jackie...See MoreNew Growth on Prickly Pear
Comments (5)Thanks, Shrubs. I don't have access to a South facing window. I put the plant in a west room with curtains. I'll check this evening to see how bright the room gets. I put the Opuntia back outdoors until the first frost. Supposed to be hot again. After the first frost, we should get Indian Summer so it should be good outdoors till mid-October. After that, should I try a light or will it go to sleep? Sagebrush...See MoreRemember my post about Survivor moving to Sunday?
Comments (6)CBS airs both Survivor and Amazing Race. Since Amazing Race has always aired on Sunday, and Survivor has always aired on Thursday, I highly doubt that Survivor would be moved to Sunday unless Amazing Race flops with it and ends up on Thursday. We watch both shows and have never heard that either one is being moved to a new day, other than the announcement two weeks ago that there would not be an episode of Survivor last week and this week it would shown on Wednesday (which is because of the "March Madness" basketball games). And it's too early for Survivor to start talking about when the finale will be shown....See MoreDid You Watch Survivor?
Comments (6)I did. Coach cracks me up. He kept asking Mikayla to step out of the challenge because she wasn't hitting anything. Well, neither was he! lol Then he got even more angry because she refused to do as she was told. And he had a not very flattering reason for keeping Edna on. "She will do as she is told." Even suggesting that she would wipe someones behind if he told her to. sheesh! If they refuse to vote out coach, I don't know why they don't get rid of Branden, and I don't know why they didn't get rid of Edna. she has never played in a competition other than the first one? really? I can't believe that the cowboy didn't vote for Edna. But when the little strange man (Brandon) started talking about personal honor, and the camera cut to Mr. Cowboy's face, I just KNEW he was going to vote with coach. Geez. Redemption island, the blonde lady is kind of funny. Giving her tribe the finger. LOL...See More- 9 years ago
