What;s for dinner Wednesday?
Comments (13)I cooked that spiral ham. Along with that was mashed potatoes and beets. Anytime I send Bobby to the garage to get a vegetable either from the freezer or canned on the shelf I can be assured he is going to come in with beets. LOL After dinner I cut the meat off the bone and packaged it for the freezer. Got six packs of meat and a big pack with the bone and the juice from the pan the ham cooked in. Looking forward to 15 bean soup in the near future....See MoreWhat's for Dinner on Wednesday?
Comments (10)It's been overcast for the most part today. They'd predicted 50% chance of rain, but so far I haven't gotten any here in my part of Ohio. I made porcupine balls, mashed potatoes/gravy, and creamed corn for my main meal. Good old comfort food and I enjoyed it. Now if the maid would come in and clean up............. Comments (15)I have been purchasing Royal Blend mixtures from Rice Select for a long time. There are several different blends and all are delicious. There are NO added salt or seasonings, just the grains. Measure the mixture into a pot, add your water or broth, butter (or not), raw veggies....bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for45 minutes....according to directions, but it doesn't take that long. The recipe possibilities are truly endless. If adding canned soup, do so at the end. Our favorite is to add smoked sausage and raw shrimp. Royal Blends can be purchased at any decent grocery store, look for the clear plastic jars with the rest of the dried rice. You won't believe how good they are. They do make a 'quick ' cooking option, which Robert bought by mistake, it's pretty awful....See MoreWhat's for Dinner on Wednesday?
Comments (7)I cooked a roaster chicken that I had planned on for last night's dinner but was too tired to cook. I spent yesterday shopping with my middle daughter for her birthday (she got some great deals on clothing) but with three little ones from 4yrs down to 6 months it was a really exhausting day. Instead of cooking we ordered pizza. So I had some chicken and sweet potato. I'll be eating that chicken for days! Patti, if you are reading hope you are feeling a bit stronger. I think about you each time I read "whats for dinner". Satine...See More- 9 years ago
