I don't know. i rescued mine a few days ago, pollinated it and it grows fine without a pot. i mist several times a day light to moderate and the roots dry quick. I have a new bud on the stem. but i think these guys are so hyped up on whatever blooming fertilizer they get at the bloom house or green house mixed with whatever experiment the florist decided to use to water it or fertilizer none of us know how the plants are gonna do or even live till we get to the five month mark. My is good for 90 days or my money back kind of thing. no knowing what plant hormone spray or dip is pushing that. so i figure if it pod's it'll live and put those fertilizers so deep in the roots to work. eventually growth will come or not and those months or seasons of get big quick growth will actually be of some use to the plant. I got a couple that seem to have less of that issue, but, they too are rescues. just have to wait and see. all that yellow on roots that large is lack of light etc. but phals will air eat from dried out roots, they are epiphyites yet most do not grow them that way killing them in pots but have nothing but bad advice telling you how to grow, they are totally ignorant of or about giving you, i think people mean well. rescue phal photo. i can assume the yellow root indicates some fungal resistance measure and yellowing it is done in efforts for the new owner to spray as norm and let what dies stay dry enough to feed the thing via air as it ages. just me and maybe i am nuts, lol, but while mine might die, at most trying to grow the thing a different way is fun. just a little support. but that moss wrap, i have no idea what's on the moss, can't give advice, ya know. there is a whole lot of science before orchids hit the shelves or nursery floor rooms. you have to grow it how it is suitable for you, but do your research. i don't know but trial and error is alright. some orchids can clone, don't worry, it might have double out there already, lol.

My plants turn in a tiny bit on the outside edge but my shelf is over flowing with small plantlets. Once I start burning the lighting on the lowest shelf it won't be a problem. I could always get 40 watt bulbs to help with that but its not a problem for me. Heck, After growing in natural light I'm not complaining. The width of 25" is a bit much for a single fixture to handle. I made mine 20x48 with a 20" space between the shelfs. The shop lights that I used are wider than 4' so I planned to make the unit 50" but cut it back to 48" to save on material costs. I'll bet a three bulb unit would work wonders for your stand but I've never seen one. It seems four bulbs is too much light and a waste of energy. Even if you switched to 25watt bulbs if you could it still won't be any cheaper than running 32 watt t-8's. At least that was what I have been told. Could you go back to one fixture with a removeable (if needed) reflector for the backside to help throw some light back on the plants? You'd be amazed at the ammount of light that gets cast off the sides of the stand. Irina, Why not make your own stand and be in control! I find myself going to a store looking for some particular item only to go back home think up an idea and go back to the store picking my brain to find this and that and doing the job myself! Its easy. Make three rectangles out of 1x3 pine. 20x48 Glue and screw. Cover each with plywood. Get four up rights out of 1x3 and screw them to the three rectangles 20" apart. I did 4" form bottom, then 20" and 20". Get light fixtures, by the bulbs and hang. I had leftover paint I used. $80.00 total cost. Thats two lighted shelfs with storage on top.

I'm thinking this is less a weed problem than a vegetable growing information problem. It's really hard to see what you've got there and impossible to id the weeds from the picture. Is that your seed bed? If so you need to check up the difference between things which you usually start off in a seed bed (cauli) and those which can be direct sown (carrots, radish, spring onions.) And always mark your rows so you can see where they are. If it's not your seed bed then its way too small for the mature plants. It seems to me that you need to do a lot more research and reading if you want success in growing vegetables. It is not difficult but if you have never done it before you need to learn some basics. Look up each of the vegetables you have chosen to grow for how to start them off and look after them, prepare the ground thoroughly i.e. dig the ground and remove all weeds and then keep weeding constantly throughout the year. BTW cauliflower is one of the hardest things to get right. You still have plenty of time this season. I have only planted out some lettuces (started indoors) and sown peas and broad beans so far. I am also in Somerset.

Hey all! Wife said clothes were too hot to touch. Got home and tried to start the dryer, and it wouldn't start. All lights lit up, and just a "click" from the control board. I did some research (thank YOU on this website!), and found my thermal fuse was blown. Got a new one as well as a brand new hard duct system. Installed new fuse, cleaned entire dryer inside (even the blower motor, inlet duct, etc). Ran the empty dryer with the vent off, and the blower cover off. Everything spun great. Then installed brand new dryer vent. The house exit is only about 4 inches above the dryer top, and about 15" till its outside. Very short run. Started right up. Ran for a few minutes. And I turned it off. Job complete! NOPE! Today my wife threw a load of wet clothes in. About 20 minutes later, the laundry room is FULL of smoke. The smoke alarm even went off. But the dryer was still running like nothing was wrong. I turned it off, and opened the door. More smoke. Grabbed the clothes out, and they are almost MELTED. The rubber waistband of our sons soccer pants are actually melted and sticky. The clothes smell like burning rubber. And we literally cant touch them. So, did a code check. Got F30 and F25. I am lost... I know it can't be a venting issue. It is all brand new. But shouldn't the thermal fuse have blown again? Its crazy.... please advise!
