Crazy or Feasible? Trash Pull-Outs Under Sink???
Comments (19)The only reason I didn't do pullouts was my sink is 10 inches deep and undermounted. The larger bins I wanted would have been right under the sink if on a pullout platform. I decided to have them freestanding and be able to put something in them without moving them rather than have stuff possibly rub on the bottom of the sink as it got full. There is a disposal, instant hot tank, never MT and large soap bottle, two baskets of cleaning supplies and two DW connections under there as well as trash and recycling. Works for me....See Morepull-out trash beneath sink?
Comments (10)I do. Here's a pic of mine. It's a Rev-a-Shelf 4WCSC-1835DM-2. My sink has an offset drain so the garbage disposal is on the right, couldn't have made this work if my sink had a center drain. I have 2 of these units in my kitchen. The other one, slightly larger, is across the way in the island. I love having receptacles for garbage, glass recycling (behind garbage), mixed recycling and returnables! I did a rough estimate by subtracting the thickness of the counter, the exterior depth of the sink and the depth of a drawer bottom from the interior height of a cabinet (same cab maker made our bathroom cabs but you should also be able to get these measurements from your cab maker and/or GC). I was pretty sure there was enough room but since my GC has the same sink, I asked him to measure the distance from the bottom of his sink to the floor of his cabinet (I was within 1/2"). I just measured: we have 1 1/4" to spare between garbage can and sink bottom so even if my sink were up to an inch deeper, we would have been fine....See MoreShow me your Ikea Sektion Trash Pull-out under sink with disposal!
Comments (1)Here's ours. What I ended up doing was getting a 15" deep drawer for the 24" deep cabinet. I still had to use a medium depth drawer, the deep wouldn't fit. You can see the automatic cabinet opener installed on the bottom of the cab, which works moderately well....See Morecorner sink, dishwasher, pull out trash
Comments (22)I wonder if that great ocean view could be maximized so it's enjoyed more than just when you are doing the dishes. (maybe rearrange the layout to add a breakfast nook?). FWIW I used to hate that my sink window looked at the neighbor's house, not far away. I'd previously built a fence with an arbor and trellis (to match the rest of the fence) but still didn't love it. But when we rebuilt the fence, I swapped out the lattice section for something that looks more craftsman to go w/ my house (my neighbor even allowed us to make it solid on his side, which helps block the view.). With all my existing plantings and vines, I'm amazed at how much better it is. Here's a pic that's somewhat similar to what I had: My new fence/arbor is closer to this (but solid). Plus plantings and vines. Since the breezeway is all on your property, you can do anything you want!...See MoreMaWizz
