Comments (5)LOL, plllog! You remember my cardboard hood mock-up? Yes, my craft skills, limited that they are, were put to the test when I built this: It did help me realize that an island hood would be too big for our modest kitchen and that the best solution was to move the cook top to the perimeter. That hood was long ago recycled. Besides, I'm quite sure a cardboard hood is a bad idea, now matter how great the blower motor would be. :) I had forgotten you have a MA hood. I'm glad to hear you're happy with it and your previous one. We can't go with an in-line or remote blower, unfortunately, but after hearing the fan noise of the VA, Wolf and a mesh filter Zephyr, I'm quite sure that the noise level of a MA hood will be acceptable, especially compared to our horribly noisy pop-up downdraft. What has me hesitating is the fact that I will be buying it without trying it. All should be fine but it's the "what if" that has me hesitating, especially since it's a big ticket purchase. Rococogurl suggested I see if I can find a MA hood owner in my area who's willing to let me come see the hood. I am short (a bit less than 5'4"). I have test driven hoods in show homes that are 34" above the counter and haven't had a problem reaching the controls at the front. Does MA offer a remote feature? That would be worth checking into. Thanks! Thanks, sonny_h, for the suggestion since that's not a brand I'm familiar with. However, it would again be buying one without seeing it and without as many glowing reviews, I'd be even more hesitant. I will look for your kitchen pics, though! Comments (28)Thanks so much to everyone. Romy718, your room is beautiful!! You do not need to wait for rugs & accessories to know that, it looks great and the colors are so pretty and work great together. Thanks for showing me. And I need to go on back to the backsplash thread and start looking up info on those tiles. I think the one that you said you were using in your own kitchen is my favorite...is it ok if our houses end up looking like cousins?! gpraceman, someday I hope to replace the slate hearth with soapstone. That was my plan for this remodel but budget got tight and we decided to just scrub down the existing slate hearth, my GC put some sort of sealer/enhancer on it; and we painted the shelf White dove same color as our trim. I'm not crazy about it, I really want a thicker distressed wood mantle, but it'll do for now. nyse2502, first, thank you Im so glad to hear you like my fireplace! This thread is from several months ago, in the meantime I had several other threads going round and round on what countertop material to choose. In the end I went away from the Sea Pearl, the Jet Mist, the Steel gray... and ended up with a Calcutta marble on my island that I love and a very plain almost solid gray Silestone on my perimeter which I am really happy with. It was a great solution for me. I got a (relatively) small little chunk of a gorgeous fragile material that I love, and then I have an extremely durable uncomplicated attractive counter everywhere else that I don't have to worry about. I admit to being totally overwhelmed and absorbed with my own reno that I haven't had tons of time to be looking at all the threads on here so maybe I missed it, but have you posted pics of your whole house reno? Sounds like a huge job, congrats on being done! I'll post a picture of my updated fireplace. This room still needs a lot of work...a rug, something on other side of fireplace, different mirror or something else on mantle, a screen for fp...but you get the idea. Thanks for all the support on this thread!...See MoreHair products for short hair
Comments (28)If you want the spiky look, then mousse would probably give you the finish you want. My hair has gotten some curl in it which tends to get unruly in the summer, so I've found "It's a 10" leave in conditioner which seems to control and add a lot of shine. I get the walmart equate version though. I figure if it's popular enough for walmart to copy it, it must be well received in general. This is me on vacation in ID, just toodling around...I also don't color my hair...never have and am delighted to not have to start...yet anyway. But short hair is wonderful. It takes me 30 sec to dry my hair and go. Last thing I want to do is complicate my life. Congrats on the new do!...See More10 yrs and I still can’t get our living room right - HELP PLS

The soak tub has been converted to a walk-in shower. And the old shower is being framed as a closet! They have been here since Tuesday, and they are almost done today! Yay! The painter we are hiring just called and wants to start next Tuesday! OMG, my head is spinning!😂🤣😂...See MoreFunkyart
