I am looking for a book on basic composting
Comments (16)I agree that articles and pamphlets are more likely to help with generating initial interest and you won't be out much money if any. If a neighbor asks for more info after reading an article or pamphlet then you know that the process of conversion has begun. That said, I bought the Rodale book knowing next to nothing and having very minimal science education and found it to be an interesting and pleasant read and wasn't intimidated by it. The Complete Compost Guide is good for those who like photos and it makes composting look downright cute. Definitely do not start with the Humanure Handbook if you do not wish to scare the neighbors....See MoreMy post of the day - Arghh I am a book hoarder!
Comments (26)My husband wanted to buy me a kindle for christmas and I said noooooo I have too many hard copy books I have not read yet. He said that is the point, maybe we could get into the guests bedrooms. Nooo, I said, I want to keep my books, what if the kindle malfunctioned and I lost all my books that I downloaded? Anyway he bought himself a kindle, but he did not get rid of his hardcopy books..but seriously Could that possibly happen, you loose your downloaded copy of books on kindle? I have over 521 books that have been catagorized, so far that have been counted and catagorized. That was several years ago. We have built in book shelves in both guest rooms for mine and my husbands books, plus the books our children left behind...if we both bought a kindle a piece do you think someone would be interested in these books? or just good for kindling? Who would you suggest we call?...See MoreBook I am Writing--Part 1 is finished
Comments (18)Thanks everyone for the encouragement and information. Jodi...when I get to Frank Zappa I will take up on the offer to interview Del. Thank you for that. Cyney....I have Brad on my list as well. To everyone....of course I would autograph all copies. I have thought about this book for such a long time and decided it was time to start writing. I am starting the book off with the Day the Music Died.....Buddy Holly. I am including not just "Rock & Roll" but Soft Rock, Hard Rock, etc. As I told DH....there is more to the deaths then just Hendrix, Joplin, Morrison, and Elvis. The way I am trying to construct this is to give everyone 1 page of information and I am keeping it in date order. SamKaren your resident DJ...See MoreI am so angry right now!
Comments (23)I feel your pain. Yes, a prekindergarten graduation isn't of monumental importance, but you planned around their schedule - and then they changed it. Scheduling is one of the things that drives me nuts about my niece's school. Most of the time, they don't tell us when things are scheduled until a week (or less) ahead of time, which is bad enough. But then when they change the dates!!! I remember a few years ago, my sister was working as a school nurse and couldn't take much time off during the daytime. But my niece's class teacher scheduled a slide show at night, and my sister was SO excited to be able to finally attend something, only to have the teacher change the time to morning at the last minute, "because otherwise, some parents couldn't attend." (I would have had no problem if she'd polled the parents before setting the date, but thought this was very poorly done.) Anyway, have a great time at Disney!...See Moreeld6161
