Comments (4)LOL the rubber duckies have a purpose. There were screws sticking up out of the posts and I couldn't get them out. I put the duckies on to cover them up and make them look better as well as make them safe. I forgot to put that in my description....See Moreupholstered headboard - tufting question
Comments (3)You can piece together fabric in your tufts, and no-one will ever know that its pieced. Most leather tufting is pieced many times, especially headboards and sofa's. Headboards are easier to tuft in its not a solid piece of plywood, just build a frame and stretch a piece of heavy stiff fabric across to support the foam and button tufts. A button needle is essential for this method. Whether its diamond or square tufts, it all starts the same. Determine the size tuft you want, draw straight horizontal and vertical lines, centered and space the distance evenly on headboard. At the intersection of each horizontal and vertical lines is where you want your buttons. If you use 1 1/2" to 2" foam, bore about 1" holes in these same locations. Take you fabric and draw on the back side the same horizontal and vertical lines, but add about 1 1/4" vertical and 1" horizontal. Again mark the intersections, this is where your buttons will be placed on the fabric. Go ahead and place all the buttons: string your buttons, using a button needle, pull through the holes and tie off on the back side. Then its just matter of folding in the folds from button to button and pulling over and stapling on the back side....See MoreUpdate: I tufted my padded headboard (pics)
Comments (44)Thank you for all your nice comments! My sofa came from a model home they were selling the contents of, I bought it for about $150. It has a $2000 price tag under one of the cushions and was a custom sofa made for the builder. A good friend of mine bought some chairs that were in the living room with the sofa. She got a great deal too, we were both really lucky. They are gorgeous big plaid, black and white. A big plaid really looks great with the toile too. You're welcome about the pictures, hope they gave you some inspiration for your room!...See MoreNeed help choosing headboard and window treatment
Comments (6)regarding the blinds, they do have arched window blinds or plantation shutters. I wouldn't use any drapes because that window is inset. for the window by the desk, consider doing some simple window casing. It will frame and finish the look,,, roman blind, or try a Pirouette Or Luxaflex Pirouette. You could also get these for the other window and either leave the arch portion bare, or find a fixed piece for it. The other option is to remove it, or perhaps do a stained glass insert for it these can be made in any color or design (I had one made for my bathroom window from Etsy. it fits right inside the window and is adhered w/silicone caulk)...See Moreratherbesewing
