No, I didn't buy myself a bicycle and knee pads. Nor have I undertaken a major DIY home-improvement project. I haven't even set up a good system for storing my boots. No, this is about hangers. :-)

When you posted about your purchase of a large number (100?) of wooden hangers recently, I said I was expecting to receive some for Christmas. That was because I knew a family member had bought some good ones to give as a gift, and I thought it might be for me. But no. Meanwhile I'd gotten myself psyched up to have some nice wooden hangers, so I looked online at various options. I didn't need a large number, and my budget wouldn't permit uber-upscale hangers. But I found a couple of possibilities.

When I looked in my closets (I should say "closets" because most are not actual closets, but wardrobes or garment racks) to see how many hangers I needed, I discovered a) I had some nice wooden ones, but not all of them were well utilized, and b) I had many extraneous plastic hangers. Looking further in storage spots, I found the heavy red wooden hangers we used when we lived in Manhattan. Beautiful hangers plus great memories!

So I started organizing. Organization is not one of my talents, for sure, but the result looks good: Coats, jackets, and some other garments hanging on wooden hangers, with a few left over, and a bunch of plastic hangers--no longer taking up room--headed for donation to the animal-shelter thrift shop.

So thanks, Moni! I know you're enjoying your handsome hangers lined up in your closet, and even though mine don't match each other (ha--far from it!), I'm enjoying mine too.
