When I was a Girl Scout, back in the 60's, my scout leader had recently lived in Japan for a year (for her husband's job)and we spent the whole year studying Japan. We made Japanese food and learned a Japanese folk song, Sakura. We also attempted (but failed) to grow Japanese Cherry Trees. We learned to appreciate the culture of these wonderful people. My Mother, who had lived thru World War 2, hated anything Japanese. She was quite a racist, in spite of her genteel manners.She also hated Black People. She said she would leave the US if we ever elected a Black President. She did not keep her promise. But I digress...

Aw that so sweet Marilyn, thanks and someday I'd like to meet you too! Silly Flamey, of course we talked about you ;o) As soon as Moni pulled that thumb pincushion out of the bag she said "Did you get that from the link Flamey posted?" heheheh you were sweet to post it and I'm really grateful thanks again! Missindia, that's the nicest compliment for me, I'd love to have Moni as a sister ;o) Ont_gal, DH fixed it for me, he didn't want me to pull any of the knobs - turns out on a Ford you push and hold the clock button while mashing the seek button, who knew you don't punch and poke lol. Yup it's cold in Texas today and it was yesterday but the day before that it was a nice warm 78 degrees......I miss Tuesday lol. YaYa, we both wished All of you had been there with us! dbfirewife, you are to kind. Haskell is a pretty interesting person. He has a wife in the Philippines... that he met over the internet. I kinda think, she is using him. Meanwhile, I managed to get a free bike through my bike club elist, and got it to him. While there, I found out, the community pantry in a nearby small town was open this afternoon, and hauled him over, and he got groceries for over two weeks at least. There is no walmart, or any mart, or decent grocery store in that little town. But, there is a dollar general store. He has clothes, and most necessary items, cept a bed, and an easy chair, and a decent table. Somehow, between yesterday and when I got there, he got a microwave, more clothes, a rickety table, and a small shelf unit. I didn't ask. It kind of looks like he isn't just being taken, but also knows how to use the system. Sorry if I sound cruel, but those are my impressions. Moni

Jenn and I rode to the Oklahoma FreeWheel, and then rode FreeWheel together in 2012. I had gotten a divorce the year before. She was heading to a divorce. Well, all that was done, she met Curtis. I ride with Mel all the time, and Mel knows both Jenn and Curtis too. I found out, Jenn was getting married in August. She would not let anyone know more than that. I friended her son, and pumped him for info. I was planning on flying there. Mel got wind of it, and said, he wants to be a wedding crasher too. Thus, we drove down together, had a BLAST, crashed the wedding which was a BLAST, and had a BLAST on the way home. Curtis (groom) told me before Jenn came down, we were the BEST surprise we could ever have done for Jenn. More pictures will follow. For some reason, I could not post one today. I was out of town yesterday and most of today. Did not see this post till now. :) More to come Moni
