Espresso Cabinet, Granite and Backsplash set up
Comments (45)Hard to say if it works without the tile being photographed with the slab. Did you do that check? That sealed it for us. If you can put the tile sample in front of the slab and not see anything that looks off, you're good! Would like to see that photo! But I think the soft flowing lines of the first choice is better than the very modern, rigid lines of the second. I think either will read pretty much as a solid, so there's no advantage to using the second for less competing pattern with the granite. The gray in the tiles should be fine, and the cream seems to be a little peachy like the granite. The granite is very peachy, so you wouldn't want that in your floor tile....See MoreBacksplash Help - Alaska White Granite, Off White Cabinets
Comments (20)Oh my gosh! I'm reading all of your posts right now to my Hubby so he'll know I'm NOT the only one who can't make a decision on a backsplash! LOL I have the white Alaska granite countertops as well. It has been well over a year and I still can't decide! And although I do love them, it's such a hard decision to match them with a BS! I'm so happy I came across all of your posts. I know your struggles! However, hopefully, by now you have found the perfect backsplash for your kitchen countertops! Please post pictures if you have time. I'd really enjoy seeing some of the choices you have made. Comments (25)Hi, I think to calm everything down, you will want to match one of the lightest colours out of your granite for the backsplash. I also think that a larger format tile might help offset some of the busy-ness of the floor. I'd go with coordinating colour for the grout, or just slightly darker than the tile...but not a lot darker - you don't need more action in that kitchen. How about something like this which appears to have a bit of surface texture but is still very simple. That one is from Tilebar and I know they have a great sample policy so it is worth hopping onto their site and choosing a few you think might work for you and ordering them in. Yes, a solid colour rug and big enough to cover most of the tile (Ikea is your friend on this) will help until you have budget to redo the floor. Flippers who use the cheapest materials available are just wasting so much time and effort, not to mention money. I've seen so many houses where a flipper has come in and used the cheapest tiles and fixtures and covered everything with a fresh coat of paint. Then they want a 200% return on their investment and cannot understand why it isn't selling. And it isn't long until all the cheap finishes end up in landfill. Sigh............See Moresuggestions for backsplash to lighten up kitchen
Comments (1)"Would like to lighten up the kitchen with a new grey wall color with blue undertones." This is not a good plan with those cabinet and floor colors. A soft cream colored backsplash will really lighten the space. If you want to paint, stay somewhere in the cream family - no blue-gray tones....See MoreAngela Thomas
