Riobel faucets/shower heads
Comments (17)I used Riobel Products for some bathroom renovations done about 15 years ago, and have been very happy with their performance. I am currently renovating those bathrooms again to update them, and I chose Riobel again for one of the baths. I have to say though that I am concerned by what appears to me to be a change in quality of the products. I will have to wait and see how they hold up. I have to say though that I am feeling a little uncertain about replacing the old product with what appears to be a product of lesser quality (lighter in weight, and a difference in finish quality) solely for the purpose of acheiving a fresher design look. The old product functioned without fail for fifteen years. The finish and the function held up beautifully. I am noticing that the company was sold in or about 2015. I am hoping that the quality has not deteriorated, and that I am getting the same quality product that I purchased when I first discovered the company. I will have to wait and see....See MoreHelp with Selecting Bath Faucet and Shower Head
Comments (5)The first one seems way too modern for your cabs (but I love it!). As far as the second one, we put a very similar faucet in our master bath and I love that look (ours is by Danze). I wanted the curves also, to contrast with the angles in the room. I think the shower components are fine with the second faucet. Check out Danze faucets and shower heads if you like that look for other options. I purchased all of my plumbing from faucetdirect.com. LOVE that website!...See Morebath faucets shower heads without plastic parts?
Comments (15)Thaddeus Weakley, the best hand-held shower head I have used is a very small and basic wall shower head, like you find in gyms and such. Mine was from Ace Hardware and it was solid brass. Using it with a shower hose meant that I needed to buy a male-to-female brass fitting to hook it up, so that gave it the perfect length to hold in my palm. Wherever I pointed my fingeers got a good, strong spray. I had it in our bathtub, connected up on the wall shower head pipe, so the 5 ft hose did not reach the floor of the tub. It hung there until I needed it. It was perfect for washing dogs because when I let it go, it just swung back to the wall and continued to spray straight down. I have not gotten the same shower head for my current hand held because it CAN reach the floor, and I could drop it on my toes or even make it spray out of the shower stall because we have no curb and no glass enclosure. The plastic, hand-held I have is a bit eassier to grab if it should fall. If I had the hose coming from above, though, I would go back to the brass head in a minute. As for Rubinet, try calling them. They are in Canada. I have their Raven lav faucet, which I love. When it was first installed, it would loosen over time as we used it because the single handle was on the side. The force of always pushing it there would make it turn in its fittings and get loose. I called them and we determined that my installer must have left off the rubber gasket that would have grabbed it and kept it from loosening. They sent me a new one without even asking for my receipt. Hubby looked, and they were right. Contractor had left off the rubber gasket. He fixed it in a couple of minutes....See MoreCan I mix color fixtures? Black shower head and gold faucet
Comments (15)I have matte black faucets. surprisingly, they don't show any 'grossness'. water marks barely show (chrome or nickel shows much more) super easy to wipe clean too. i'll also add, "not wanting my guests to share a bath w/teenage boys", well hell patricia. not everyone has the luxury of 3-4 bathrooms in their house. maybe she should banish her kids to a backyard outhouse? I also would mention teaching the boys how to squeegee the walls and door after each shower that cuts your cleaning time in 1/2 I love this one. good luck w/the boys and the squeegee. lol. it's a constant battle. doesn't matter what tile you get, the size, the color of the faucet. with teen boys, it's going to be a mess, regardless. teach them the cleaning basics and hope they listen....See Moregrannysmith18
