Need help positioning cup pull and door knobs on vanity drawer/doors

Hello, first time installing pulls on cabinet doors and I need help with their positioning. A picture of the vanity is shown below.

The drawer pull is a cup pull similar to this one:

It's holes are located at the bottom of the pull, and the body of the pull extends about 1 1/8 inch above the holes. I had intended to center the pull vertically on the drawer. My question is: Should I drill the holes centered vertically on the drawer, or should I drill them 9/16 inch below the vertical center of the drawer so that the body of the pull is vertically centered on the drawer (I lean towards centering the holes even though it puts the body of the pull above center, but I admit to having little design sense)?

Once I locate the drawer pull I had intended to align the knobs on the taller doors even with the drawer pull. And that triggers the second question. Should I drill the holes for the knobs vertically aligned with the holes for the drawer pull, or vertically aligned with the center of the cup pull (about 9/16 in. above the holes of the cup pull)?

Position the knobs and pulls where you find them visually appealing. Drill the holes where they need to be. The holes might be centered and might not, but that's irrelevant.

I will second what pussuskattus suggested...although it is definitely more work/time, we found that it was very worthwhile to mock up the drawers and try out our handles that way. We ordered various sample sizes of our handles and DH cut some scrap wood planks in the lengths of our drawers. We then just placed the handles on each board and it was VERY quick and easy to determine which size to go with. It was surprising what we found...definitely some different outcomes than what we had thought before mocking up. There would be no need to cut wood, though...could easily just use posterboard or scrap cardboard from a shipping box. And the ribbon idea would be easy, too. Would save the step of buying the pulls if you don't know for sure yet what you want. Good idea for next time! Good luck with your search on the vintage pulls!

Thanks guys, I've been watching cooking shows today and obsessing over hardware! Guess what, America's Test kitchen used knobs on drawers so it must be ok! (or maybe it was the other show I watched?) I wanted a real mix of hardware, yes I love yours Igloo, but I made too many other choices! I got too tired out. DH will be around tomorrow for install so I told him to decide on placement FOR me! Yes, "decision prison" LOL!! I'm refusing to decide on a backsplash for now, even though we have a history of never finishing everything! I think I would just pick something safe, which might be ok, but I don't want to regret it later. Sooo anxious to see it in real life and see if it all comes together!!!!

I went with cup pulls for two reasons: (1) I used pulls on all the other drawers in my design (2) My spice drawers do not have the soft-close feature that my larger drawers do and I found it sturdier to open/close the drawer with a pull. I have a small kitchen and use these drawers everyday because they store cooking utensils next to my range, so I wanted them to be easy to manage.

I think you should drill the hole so that the cup pull itself is centered vertically and horizontally on the drawer front. I would not worry about the lining the knobs up with the cup pull. Center the knob on the door's style (the vertical piece) and then position it about 2-1/2 inches down from the top of the door.

You have to eyeball the cabinets with the pulls/knobs you chose and decide where they look best to you and how you will use them.

There is no knob/pull police that will come out and fine you for not placing the knobs/pull in the "perfect" position! ;-)

Thanks for the input. Near unanimous to rely on my tin-eye to position the pulls. It is telling me to center the holes and let the body of the pull sit above the vertical center of the drawer. So that's what I'll do. I guess if it looks wrong later on I can get a slightly wider cup pull and position it lower covering the old holes.
