Need sliding glass door - blinds between glass?
Comments (4)They are correct. Most SGD with internal blinds have neither soft-coat low-e or an argon fill. Some do come with hard coat low-e but the blinds tend to offer the client much of the shading control and therefore control the heat. That is probably the biggest complaint (minus just malfunctions and failure) we get around older patio doors - heat and bleaching the floor....See MoreI want to remove my sliding glass shower door, but have questions.
Comments (11)My metal shower door frame only had holes from screws on the vertical portions. The bottom track was not screwed into the rim of the tub. The holes may not be that big. You may be able to fill them with autobody filler and touch up the holes with a little paint, or screw in a slightly larger screw into the hole and paint the screw with a small amount of paint. It will not be perfect but it will be covered by the shower curtain as well....See MoreReplacing a ~96"x80" sliding glass patio door with swinging glass door
Comments (3)I agree with Fori, you are talking to the wrong sales people. For years early in my career, seems almost all I did was change out sliders to french doors. For your opening size and situation, you could use several combinations of door and sidelight combos. For example, a pair of 32" swinging french, with a 32" fixed sidelight. If your rough opening won't accept that, perhaps a 30" sidelight and/or 30" doors....See MoreLivingroom furniture selection and placement
Comments (19)Okay, I think I am getting a vision of what will work. What I need to do is keep the seating in the central 10x10 space. TV centered on the North wall, Hutch on the south wall. Seating could be a Sofa and loveseat or a Sofa and 2 chairs or a sectional or a sofa with a chaise as long as the dimensions of the grouping fir within the 10x10 space. Question 1 - I noticed that all of the above plans include an additional chair that breaks into the 3' walkway in front of the fireplace. It is the only thing that looks cramped on paper. Will it really be okay? Question 2 - If I did a long sofa with a chaise could I do a chair near the foot of the chaise? I seem to be drawn to the low, long, sofas with a chaise. As much as I love the look of my gondala sofa, it is low and hard for my older siblings to get off once seated, so I will probably put that in the master sitting room and look for new furniture for the living room....See MoreUser
