I want glass shower doors - is it possible? (pic)
Comments (30)I'm sure if you shop around, you can find something less costly than the Perrin and Rowe with an exposed shower feed. Here's one from Grohe. From their web page: The Rainshower System adds a sophisticated, distinctively European flair to any stylish bathroom. The system accommodates the use of a Rainshower shower head and a hand shower with an exposed thermostat valve, shower arm, hand shower union, or tub spout with 1/2-inch hose connection. Because the system is surface-mounted, it is ideal for situations where the convenience and luxury of a Rainshower shower head and a hand shower are desired but major renovations are not possible  so not only does it look great, it's practical too. It comes in chrome or satin nickel. Here is a link that might be useful: Rainshower system...See MoreRemove glass from double pane sliding doors?
Comments (2)I did that with wood sliders. One pane shattered and I used the other 3 for a shed/greenhouse. On the wood slider look in the corners for pins (headless nails). Scrape the wood to uncover them then drive them out with a blunt nail or punch. Go slow and pull the frame apart....See MoreWant to change sliding glass door into a window
Comments (2)If you're in Alameda Cnty (we are too) one almost needs a permit to breath, LOL. It's the city you live in that determines whether you need a permit. Many do it by amount: Oakland requires (or did, when we were gutting our home) a permit for any project over $600. Others charge a % of total project. Go to your city permit office and talk to them. Having plans in hand will help, but at least some kind of drawing will give them an idea of what you want to do. Some of the clerks are surprisingly helpful. YMMV, of course....See MoreHelp! I don’t want vertical blinds for sliding glass doors.
Comments (8)Thank you @Patricia Colwell that is what I needed. And I posted a pic of the space not sure if you are referring to entire space. This was the only pic I could get from someone elseks home, so please bear with me. My home is still to be built this year. Here is a clear one without the measurements. The patio doors are in the great room, the kitchen is to the right and the other area with windows is the kitchen nook. All 12 ft ceiling, so I need something fairly coordinated, but the nook will have blinds/drapes. I just do not want verticals for the patio doors. I am really not crazy about sheers either but would consider. I suppose if I do sheers they will need to be at the same height the side drapes will be. Not sure I can do anything that would sit at the top of the patio doors, unless they are solar shades but I don’t know if those would look good, either....See Moremillworkman
