Anyone have the Danze Opulence pulldown?
Comments (5)I have this faucet in the stainless steel finish. Found it online at a really good price. Personally, I'm not a fan of the pull-down faucets but Hubby insisted. This was the only one I could find that I even half-way liked. It is big - very big and the faucet part is big around. I find the rubber part (to switch between the two sprays) a little fumbly as the rubber itself slides a bit so you kind of miss the button. There's also a little notch-type thing to hold the faucet it. You can pull it out by force, though and I am concerned that doing so will wear away the notch over time. You have to twist it just right to seat the faucet all the way back in. That being said, it does look nice, works well and feels solid/sturdy....See MoreKitchen Sink Faucets with spray - Pullout or Pulldown?
Comments (34)There was a Delta pull-out in our house when we bought it. It functioned fine but I disliked the awkwardness of using it. Something about the way you had to hold it to use it in certain situations bothered me. The handle was just clumsy feeling sometimes. If I wanted to turn the head or clean the sink and turn my hand, the handle got in the way of the hose, etc. When we renovated we replaced it with a Kohler Vinnata pull-down. I much prefer the pull-down. It's just a natural, more ergonomically correct way of using a faucet in my opinion. I like that you grip the whole head of the faucet with your whole hand and that's it...no handle to fiddle with also. And no, if the faucet is made correctly, they don't dangle. We've had ours for six years now. It retracts perfectly, doesn't tangle and always goes back in just fine. What Frankoma states above about a pullout, stands for a pull-down also. I can fill my coffeepot or my stockpot on the counter with my pull-down just fine. It doesn't just pull DOWN, you pull it down and out too. :)...See MoreDoes anyone have Hansgrohe Talis C High Arc single hole pulldown?
Comments (10)Just to add a variable, I have another brand of pull down. Works fine. It has an arch and it is pointing straight down into my rear set drain, like you plan for yours. I do not like that the water drops down in this back portion of the sink, because it is so close to the backsplash and has a tendency to splash onto the back counter when I am washing things. I need more water play area. I had the handle turned to the front of the sink and that has helped a lot to prevent dripping wet hands draining water onto the counter when turning on/off the water. But I can still get a fair amount of water into the back of the faucet. It drives me crazy. It is too much maintenance for me. I obsess that water is seeping into the grout of the backsplash or where ever water can seep into. I may end up buying another faucet that is more like the "S" model you've posted, because it seems to have the spray range more forward than mine. What ever you do consider having the handle facing forward so that drippy hands drip into the sink when using the handle. I had my hot and cold connected to the faucet reversed, so that it functioned like an old fashioned top single handle faucet; swing left for hot and right for cold. Can you try some faucets out in real life using water?...See MoreOpinions on faucet pull down, pull out or side spray
Comments (16)I like a pulldown. Sidespray is too fiddly and pullouts aren't as massive, meaning I don't get the spout length my shortness requires. :) I have a Kohler Simplice right now as a temporary faucet. It's okay but the spray button doesn't work right. I shoulda exchanged it but I was lazy--Kohler makes a good faucet and I just got a dud. Previously I had a huuuuge Hansgrohe Allegro Pro, selected purely by size (I was having back issues with the faucet spout length in my unremodeled kitchen). It looked like an alien space craft from the original War of the Worlds movie. Great faucet BUT! Like others, I found that the HG spray button wasn't a simple on/off mechanism. You could turn it on, you could turn it off, but if you turned off the water, it would revert to stream. Not a big deal unless you are a Tapmaster user trying to conserve water while washing veggies with the sprayer. I'll probably get another one when I remodel anyway. :) So whatever you get, make sure the spray/stream mechanism works the way you want. What we think is an obvious function may not have occurred to the faucet designers. (The Simplice--if the button acts like it should--is the way it should be. On or off, until you change it.)...See MoreWinston Simon
