We have the Talis C. On ours, the water goes pretty much straight down. It may go forward a tiny bit, perhaps 1/4" or so. It doesn't look at all like the Talis S's water stream that you posted.

I have a Hasgrohe faucet similar to the talis S and the Orca sink. The water hits very near the front of the sink. At first it really bothered me but I love the faucet so I learned to live with it. I agree with WindyCity that the Talis C looks like the water will be straight down. However, I would caution about having the stream hit the drain in the Orca because you won't be able to swivel it very far to the right without flooding the counter behind the sink.

Just to add a variable, I have another brand of pull down. Works fine. It has an arch and it is pointing straight down into my rear set drain, like you plan for yours. I do not like that the water drops down in this back portion of the sink, because it is so close to the backsplash and has a tendency to splash onto the back counter when I am washing things. I need more water play area. I had the handle turned to the front of the sink and that has helped a lot to prevent dripping wet hands draining water onto the counter when turning on/off the water. But I can still get a fair amount of water into the back of the faucet. It drives me crazy. It is too much maintenance for me. I obsess that water is seeping into the grout of the backsplash or where ever water can seep into. I may end up buying another faucet that is more like the "S" model you've posted, because it seems to have the spray range more forward than mine. What ever you do consider having the handle facing forward so that drippy hands drip into the sink when using the handle. I had my hot and cold connected to the faucet reversed, so that it functioned like an old fashioned top single handle faucet; swing left for hot and right for cold.

Can you try some faucets out in real life using water?

I have two Hansgrohe Talis S. My water does angle more forward than straight down. Both my silgranit sinks have the drains located near the center rear of the sinks. The angle of the water hasn't been an issue for me at all. In fact, at the huge cleanup sink, I'm glad the water angles more forward as it would be quite a reach into the stream otherwise.

I don't have any unnecessary splashing at either sink. Only user error results in errant water travel. You know, like turning the water on full blast and sticking a plate at just the right (wrong) angle up near the faucet. Oops. That'll make a mess. ;)

enduring -thanks so much for sharing your experience. You make a very good argument for not trying to coordinate the water flow with a rear set drain. I, too, obsess about water seeping into where ever water can seep into.

breezy - thanks for pointing out the reach issue too. After washing dishes in a laundry sink for the past several months, I'm not the least bit interested in having to strain to reach water stream.

Now I'm beginning to think I should have gone with the Talis S faucet. I do plan to turn the handle to the front of the sink, so hopefully that will also help.

Hi have the Talis C and love it. The water flows straight down and in my sink it is not positioned directly above the drain which is no problem for me.

However I notice you mentioned turning the handle to the front and I believe that is NOT possible with the Talis C. See this link and look at the Q&A. My friend has her handle in the front (diff faucet) and says she absentmindedly gets her arm/sleeve wet very often.

minty - thanks for your comment. My faucet arrived yesterday and you're correct, it doesn't rotate to the front. What's strange is that customer support from Hansgrohe (Sue) said it could, but when I called tech support yesterday (Linelle) she said it couldn't and that I should call Sue to ask her to explain explicitly how to do it because it couldn't be done. (Didn't really want to get in the middle of that!) The place I ordered from (QualityBath - unbelievable prices and great support) said I could return it and exchange it for the Talis S, but I haven't yet decided what to do. I only have the prep sink faucet (the taller version is on backorder), so I may have the plumber hook it up to see what I think. I did wonder about the wet arm issue, though. I'm so tired of making decisions...

Library Girl - Did you end up getting the Orca ORX 110 and the Hansgrohe Talis C? If so, could you post a picture of both installed. Those are the two I am going with as well and I'd like to get an idea of how it'll look.

Also, those of you who have installed with the handle to the front, can you post pics as well?

BC--looks like the Talis C cannot be turned handle front. If you mean the Talis S, I can show you pics of mine with handles front. It's much better function!
