I'm not sure how you have 'restored my computer'

Quick search shows that en_us.gm is probably Dell computer ? related... to something called 'Dell Protected Workspace'

Don't know your computer skills but this page tries to sell you something you don't absolutely need, but additionally gives you some paths to work with...

What problem were you having that required doing a restore?

'last frost date'....what does this mean please?!
Q
Comments (4)
Cheyboygan's frost dates are 5-30 (last) and 9-25 (first). Traverse City's dates are 6-9 and 9-17. You are between them. Of the two, Traverse City's is the shortest season, so unless you have something that makes your area colder than that, those dates should be relatively safe for you. Just keep in mind that the frost dates listed for ANYWHERE are just averages, they aren't engraved in stone. Keep an eye on the weather report, and if a frost is expected, run out and cover your seedlings (except for cole crops, which should be okay). Or, contact your most-local Cooperative Extension Service and ask: Phone: 517-355-2308 Toll Free:1-888-MSUE-4MI (1-888-678-3464) Fax: 517-355-6473 (their email address info was having problems) Sue

what does formal attire really mean?
Q

I was discussing this thread with my 80 yo Mum. She said back in the day people knew enough to response and it was on their own stationary. She was shocked the first time she received an invitation with a response card. Seemed like a slap in the face, like she wouldn't know enough to rsvp. But nowadays, it's hard to get anyone to rsvp to anything. So whatever works - email, response card, smoke signal. I do use the response card but always add my own handwritten comment. The handwritten notes & rsvp cards with comments were such a treat to open when I got married so I always pay it forward, so to speak. Some brides probably thing "whatever, how many will be attending?". I don't think of myself as very sentimental but I did save a few wedding invitations that I found special for various reasons. It still makes me happy to see them when I come across them. It seems sad to think that by the time my 4 yo niece will be marrying I might be informed by text.

To set your email so there is just a clickable link on your member page, and not visible on all the threads follow the instructions below. Go to the bottom on any page here, and click on Member Pages Then click on Edit your Personal Information, Page, and Preferences You will then probably be asked to login in again. Than check the box Allow other users to send you email via forms at our site. That will place a link on your member page. Though the emails via GW are not always reliable, your email addy will be visible on the GW email form, and members could get the addy there and email you privately (non GW). Yes...the follow up reply emails seem to be hit or miss, and have been for a long time. Sue

What Does *Stratification* Mean?
Q
Comments (0)
Natural Stratification The Merriam-Webster definition of the VERB "Stratify" is: to form, deposit, or arrange in strata. How does it relate to seeds? Please imagine that a plant has set seeds, and the seeds have matured and fallen onto the ground. Perhaps some leaves have fallen over the seeds covering them, or an animal has passed by and kicked up some dirt and sand covering them, or maybe just the frost has heaved the surface of the soil, it has melted back down, and the seeds have nestled into the mud. Eventually the seeds will be a part of the soil, layered into it. As the season of winter begins and autumn ends there will be repeated frosts and thaws, and eventually, the temperatures will become so cold that ground will be frozen for the long duration of the winter season. During this time the seeds are at rest in the soil....they are (in effect) sleeping for the winter. At the end of winter will be the same repeat process of thaws and freezes, but the days will get longer, and the air will get warmer, and eventually the ground will permanently thaw when the season of spring has arrived. It is this repeated thawing and freezing, with a period of dormancy (the sleep of the seeds), and then more thawing and freezing followed by warming sun that triggers the germination of the seeds. Mother Nature's seeds often need to "sleep before they wake" and natural stratification provides that. Outdoor seedlings germinate at their own right time, they are not forced by the unatural aspect of being germinated indoors. They are born hardy to their local climate and will thrive from the moment of germination. Trudi

Did the computer guy fix the language error ?

You always have the option to undo any restore point if the results of the restore point are causing problems.

If you go back to the System Restore you will see an option to undo that restore point and the error should go away.

If you're router died, why would you think a system restore would fix it? The first PC I had ran Windows 3.0 and I don't think in all that time I've ever needed a restore point.

Aren't you the lucky one......I have used that option about two or three times over the years that I have had computers.....and I had Windows 3.0, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7.0 Professional and Windows 10.....as you can see I have had many computers over the years........I am a Computer operator not a Computer Tech......Thank you! P.S. I go back to Netscape and my first computer was a Gateway......I still need help from a Tech....but, I have fun with my laptop, Ipad, Desktop....
