California Native Seed Suppliers

After huge success direct sowing some seeds of Lacy Phacelia, a California native and bee's favorite, I decided to try more California native seeds this fall.

But, you see, I'm picky. Some meadow-y and popular, wild looking natives just don't go with the look I have created in my yard. For instance, I don't do yellow or orange. Luckily we have tons of red, pink, white, blue and purple natives that I think are gorgeous.

I compiled a pretty cool list of vendors who have what I think are beautiful CA native seeds/bulbs for a garden. For those of you picky like me, I thought I would post the list.

One Stop Poppy Shop http://www.onestoppoppyshoppe.com/california-poppy-seeds

Larner Seeds http://www.larnerseeds.com/

Leonine Iris http://www.leonineiris.com/

American Meadows http://www.americanmeadows.com/wildflower-seeds/pacific-northwest (You may want to check with your local master gardeners before you plant some of these though, like milkweed. Some milkweeds aren't good for the CA butterflies)

and of course the ones that sell plants that you probably already know about:

Your local nursery (my favs are Armstrong, Alden Nursery in Livermore and sometimes Sloats)

Annies http://www.anniesannuals.com/

Las Pilitas http://www.laspilitas.com/

;)

Feel free to add to the list! :)
