I have Secret Recipe, but I just recently got it from Heirlooms, so it's too early for me to make any comment on it. The other striped mosses however are probably similar, and none of them has exhibition form either. Of those, I grow Strawberry Swirl and Rose Gilardi. Rose Gilardi is the better rose of the two. But I don't know of any exhibition form striped minis that hold that form for any length of time. I do take pics sometimes that show such form, but usually it's just becaue I happen to catch them at the right moment, not because they stay that way. As for Dreamcatcher's availability, I just took a look around and I don't see it anywhere. That's a shame. It's a nice rose and should be more available. It's a short climber and does hold good form for awhile. We had one last week in our auction. I got mine from the Uncommon Rose when they were still in biz, but they've been gone for 5 years now. And it's not going to get any better in the future -- The USDA is stopping imports of all garden roses to the U.S. from Europe/Japan etc effective Jan. 2012 due to some citrus root weevil issue, or so I hear. Lesmc -- In referring to Stars N Stripes, I was referring to the red/white stripe mini by Ralph Moore. There is however a Clements shrub rose called Stars and Stripes Forever that I think is a dog and is soon to be outahere. Stars and Stripes Forever grows like a climber and yes, it hardly ever blooms here either. And even when it does bloom, its blooms have all the same faults as Scentimental, which I also disliked and got rid of. If you want a red/white striped big rose, you can't beat Fourth of July....See Morepruned today and....does anyone have tips for saving my roses?

As it may seem like a " dohhhh WHY did I do that and then ask the question" Only to get what appears to be " ASK BEFOR YOU ACT "(For my responce you should also know: Oddly what some may neglect to tell you is Roses are also resiliant and sometimes also hardy ( EXP: I've had some of mine attact by deer and the roses din't seem to mind ) Ohh well: I guess I can't control everything Example: Like my last concern: The mighty rose gods may even tell you not to water leaves right after it rains. The rose that gets pruned in Florida is a rose pruned in Michican as well: Regardless if its new, old what ever rose it is. It is sometimes wise to let the rose grow the gardener who also grows the rose. Is it wise to prun in Winter ? No Will your roses die if you do it anways ? No Will your rose die if you dont do it ? No ( you might have some extra prunning to do in spring thou) When is the best time to prune your roses ? I don't know ask your rose. Mine say Mid/Late Fall one yr and early Srping anouther yr. Regardless of how the sun times shine which do change from month to month in total sunlight hours no matter where you live in the USA Peace Wes...See MoreDoes anyone have any experience with teaching English abroad?
Comments (15)Woo hoo! How exciting for your son. I wish him well on this endeavor and hope he has a fabulous experience. I emailed by daughter, who replied today, but your post above answers many of her questions. She taught ESOL in Thailand for 2.5 years, staying on for an extra 6 months because one teacher cancelled at the last minute. She had a wonderful experience. She is now living and teaching in a private school in Arezzo in Italy and loves her job, teaches all ages, etc. Here is her response, though some of the info might be too late for your son, it may benefit someone else reading this. "As for the guy going to South Korea...it could be that someone quit halfway through the year. Who knows! It might depend on what kind of school it is - would he be teaching in a public school, or is it a private language institute? I know there are (or definitely were when I was looking a few years ago) lots of jobs in southeast Asia, and it's a lot easier to find work there than other areas, like Europe, due to demand. It does sound like he might be jumping into the job just because his girlfriend is leaving, but is that really such a bad thing? If he's not putting his degree to use, in my opinion teaching English in South Korea would be a better/ more enriching alternative than working at Best Buy! A good life experience, even if it doesn't lead to anything career-wise. It would be good to check out the school as thoroughly as possible - have they got a website? Are you sure they're a 'respectable' school? What kind of contract are they offering? Will they help him get a work visa? That would be one of the most important things to find out. Will they help him find accommodation, etc.? Can he get the email of other teachers working there and write them to get a firsthand account of what living there is like? How easy is it to get around if you don't speak Korean? etc." Terriks, I second Sherry's recommendation for Skype if you don't already have it. That is how we usually communicated with her. With the video, we could also 'see' her apartment and friends. Don't forget to start planning a trip to go visit him! - Elisabeth...See Moreanyone have experience with nursery tuincentrum lottum?
Comments (9)I have been looking at their selection as well. I had my reservations but at their prices it is worth a try and now that Campanula has recommended them, I am plan to order 20 roses from them for delivery in November - works out to EUR5.50 per rose including postage! I would never get that here in Switzerland - min. price here per rose is about EUR14.00 + postage. Sharlene...See MoreMelissa Northern Italy zone 8
