Comments (23)As someone who is the size of a garden gnome (alas, a chunky garden gnome), I've done myself in on a number of occasions thinking I could handle gardening projects. I'm getting like Nancy these days--trying to find innovative ways to do things using the hand-truck, wheelbarrow, and even hiring cheap help for major stuff. Comments (30)Linda, I used to quilt all my quilts by hand, but now I machine quilt almost exclusively. This quilt I sent out to be longarm quilted by a member of my quilt guild. She did a wonderful job! I was thrilled with her work and I love my quilt. The fabrics used were 1930's reproduction prints, some authentic vintage 30's fabrics, and some plaids, checks and polka dots thrown in for a good mix. The 30's prints are what I call brighter pastels - very happy fabrics. I'm glad you like the quilt. It gives me such pleasure twice a day - when I make the bed in the morning and when I pull back the covers to go to bed at night. Comments (4)I wanted some finish under my cabinets. Originaly, the builder left them completly unfinished. The floor under the cabinets was absorbant. (I had to install new floors because they were badly damaged by chairs who's glides fell out.) Also, I wanted the floors to have some sealant on them, before all the trades walked all over them. Comments (14)Dad and mom use to make head cheese, too. And pickled pigs feet. Dad would brag that when they buthchered a pig the only thing they didn't use was the squeal.
