My Pothos is so weird
Comments (8)Actually the left half of the plant has started to very faintly turn more green - only half of the plant is directly in front of the East window. I moved it so it is now completely in front of it. How does that work, say a Marble Queen (or any variegated plant really) turns all green because of bad light. It then is moved permanently in front of a window with the right amount of light. Does the verigation come back? I'm not sure how that works....See MoreIs that a firetruck? Comments (13)I built my first house as a single woman in my late twenties and my boyfriend at the time (now husband) was helping me move in. He was told by the inspector that we should run the water in the bathtubs and sinks for about 10 minutes to get any construction stuff out. Whatever that means. So DH turned on all the faucets in the house. Only he forgot to turn them off! gets better... i was in my master bath for about an hour unpacking while he was moving some things into the garage. I came out to the front foyer to go ask him something and saw the entire foyer full of water! As well as the two front bedrooms, their closets, and the bathroom. Not only did he forget to turn them off, He forgot to check if the bathtub drain was closed! He flooded the house before we even spent the first night in it!!! Luckily our builder was so nice that they came and ripped out all the carpet in the bedrooms and reinstalled for us. At no charge! I didn't talk to him for hours. Comments (7)That's so sad. Here are a few recipes that are easy and kids usually like. You could double the ingredients and change the instructions to 8 balls on the porcupines before giving it to them. PORCUPINES - serves 2 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/4 cup uncooked rice 1/4 cup milk 2 Tbs. finely chopped onion 1/8 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. garlic powder dash of pepper 1 Tbs. oil or shortening 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 cup water 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce Mix beef, rice, milk, onion, salt, garlic powder and pepper. Form into 4 balls. Fry in melted shortening, tuning frequently, until light brown but not crusty on all sides. Mix together and add remaining ingredients. Cover, simmer 45 minutes over low heat, turning porcupines occasionally. BAKED EGGS - Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Put about a tablespoon of cooked sausage or chopped up leftover ham in a custard cup. Break an egg over it and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add 1 teaspoon of milk. Bake for 15 minutes. Serve with a piece of toast. You can make them without meat, just butter the custard cup before adding the egg. You can sprinkle grated cheese on top or add a bit of herbs. BUTTERSCOTCH NUT SLICES (4 dozen) 6 Tbs. butter or margarine, softened 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup finely chopped hickory, pecans, walnuts, or other nuts Cream the butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add into the creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Shape into two 7 inch rolls; wrap each in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for two hours or until firm. (Can be frozen for later use at this point.) Unwrap and cut into 1/4 inch slices and place on ungreased baking sheets. I'm glad, though, that you could find a loving home for her and wish her . . . wish you both, well. Both of my children are allergic to cats and so are a number of my siblings, and so I know how debilitating that allergy is. One of my sisters is also allergic to dogs and it makes her visits to our home difficult, as we have two dogs that are family to us.
