Cruising (doing nothing) at work since I am on target timewise for all my projects and it's Friday. We're going out to lunch in another half hour. Tomorrow will be my tricky day. My son was supposed to register with MTSBOA to try out for midstate band/orchestra (it's a requirement when you're in wind ensemble), and didn't. So he has to register at some obscure time, and everything is up in the air. The rest of my day will be whatever I can do when it's over with. Rake leaves, buy cat food, and clean the kitchen at the very least, but I could do most of it tonight after work, leaving the day for playing?

LOL fun2B....we had this discussion once before or I would be asking the same question. It's a small dumpling. Last night I made a marinated shrimp appetizer to bring to our neighborhood Christmas party along with some pecan bars. My only accomplishment so far today was to search (and finally find) the serving dish I wanted to put the shrimp in, and to cut up and plate the pecan bars. Also clean up the kitchen. I'm going to have some breakfast now and then decorate my mantle, do some laundry and then get gussied up for the party.

I didn't know 'rivel' either. Rice sized dumpling for lack of a better description?

Right now I'm drinking Ovaltine and watching it rain. I need to go grab sheets and get those started in the laundry. Make some hummingbird food and empty the dishwasher.

DH is going to a funeral service for a man I didn't know with his brother later. I'm going to Safeway, Walmart, Marshalls and Ross, Post Office...in the rain. I bought my 46" wreath base for the front entry on Wednesday, I'm hoping to get some ornaments wired on so I can hang it this afternoon. And, we have much colder weather forecast for early next week, my plants that are under the overhang of the house will probably do better well watered so I'd better make a note to do that too.

I'm at work. Checking in between projects.

This day is dragging.....

Rivels are nothing more than egg noodle dough. Just eggs, flour and salt. They are not dumpling like. They can be very small or I just use a teaspoon and drop or scrape them off into the cooked potatoes and onions and let them cook in the water till done. Then I add the milk and butter to my soup. My Mother never used milk in her potato soup but she made the rivels.

Just woke up a little bit ago. Worked 6 out of 7 days, got off yesterday at 3:30 pm and met my kids for dinner. Then they wanted to see a movie. Then we sat in the car for a couple hours talking in front of their house. They are both renting a house in Lexington with 3 other people now. I kept telling them I was tired but they kept talking and talking...lol. Came home and read online and then a book for some reason until 3 am. Now messaging my brother about my dad. He isn't doing too well. Debating whether to go see him or not. I have 2 exchange students and 2 dogs to find a place for it I go, though. And I need to work on a resume and paperwork to apply for a new job. It's time for me to move on. Been on a med-surg floor for 13 years now. It's physically killing me. Have been having problems with my feet for a couple years now. Then I went and sprained my ankle hiking 3 weeks ago, still in pain. Took myself off light duty the other day, though since being charge nurse doesn't help. I walked more than with a group of patients! This other job is a desk job, telephone care. I hope I get it. Wish me luck.

I'm working on a landscape renovation plan for a picky, picky customer. About to finish up the installation details and will turn it over to the contractors tomorrow. Then, I may change my phone number just to get away from this guy.

Went to the fitness center early for a few laps before it was completely light outside, then worked on the Pilates equipment while my muscles were still warmed up. I think I like going that early.

I'm going to fix a big pot of beef stew for supper. The little sprites from next door are coming over so that their grandpa can have a date! We might make gingerbread after they get here.

Well on Wednesday my daughter had knee surgery so we went to her first physical therapy appointment today. I've been getting the rest of my Christmas stuff out and cleaning house while helping her out too. She just decided to take a nap so I am finishing up lunch and then getting busy again with house work. I have no idea what we are having for supper.

i wrapped birthday gifts this morning and then spent an hour on the phone with Verizon trying to get my printer to work. It keeps asking for my security password when I try to print. All my other devices which are on the wireless connection are all working fine. It won't accept the wep# as the password and that poor girl tried everything. Soooo after an hour I still can't print and guess my next call will be to HP but just can't face that right now. Oh, and of course Im frustrated so Im eating everything in sight which in turn is depressing me.

So, aren't you sorry you asked what Im doing?

Another day, more baking for Sunday's fundraiser. Also trying not to sample too much lol! Fortunately, DH is making BLTs for dinner today and I can concentrate on the sale. I will also try to do my 12,000 steps today.

I am grouting a fireplace brick veneer. Having a little difficulty as it is rippling so there is a lot of extra work since the grout trowel isn't cooperating. Still looks good and the grout colour really matches the brick. This has been the past 5 hours. Now - cleanup time. This weekend my kids and I will do some Christmas baking. I will be a scrooge and tape everything very securely before putting in freezer.

Trying to get my darn kitchen in order. I got my big pantry all cleaned out yesterday. Trying to get cabinets cleaned out. Trying to get rid of some things I no longer use. Had to go in town to pick up my medicine and mail out the monthly bills. Going to inish a couple more things before I go to our sons to watch the grandkids. Today is my daughter-in-laws Birhday so they are going out with a few friends for supper. Tomorrow I want to tackle the frig. It seems like I never ends.

stripped the bed, hung comforter and pillows on line to air!! its about 50 here, so everything will be nice and fresh. did 2 loads of sheets. emptied DW, loaded it, cleaned up kitchen. put clothes away, ate breakfast., on phone with stepsister-in-law., cleaned 3 bathrooms, dusted and vacuumed my room, steps and cleaned LR., to get ready to decorate. cleaned DR last week., UGH, it never ends... now pulling decorations out of crawl space and starting to decorate. working on decorations till 4:30, then have to go to work for a little bit., then done for the day!!!

Laundry this morning, hemmed a pair of jeans, and picked things up in the bedrooms and the bathrooms so my robot vacuum could work. Then went to work to participate in a Legislative Conference with several visiting state representatives and senators and a couple of staffers from the offices of our federal congressman and senator. And had lunch with them.

Hurried home to meet the Maytag man to get my new dishwasher installed. Of course, I had to empty everything out from under the sink and wipe it down before he got here. Took me forever to find the right breaker to shut off so he wouldn't get electrocuted! Took the magic marker downstairs with me the last time to mark that sucker. Why doesn't everybody label each and every electric breaker?

As soon as the Maytag man is done I'm going out for my daily walk. I try to get at least 3 miles every day. And finish the laundry - I had to shut off the water, too, while he installs the dishwasher.

After all that, I think I'm done for the day. No obligations for this evening as we almost always eat out on Friday nights.

I was out of hay this morning and so after feeding the horses, I went to town and bought feed and hay. I went to Kroger to get a few things and to Froberg's, which is a family owned farm that sells fruit and vegetables and really excellent sausage. I have never care much about sausage, one way or another. It is okay but nothing to get excited about. Well, theirs is really good. I don't know if I will use it in red beans, sausage and rice or if I will make gumbo with it. I have never put sausage in gumbo because it overwhelms the flavor of the shrimp or crab, but I am thinking about making some with just sausage in it. Or I may just use some shrimp I have in the freezer and make shrimp gumbo. I stopped at Subway and got a sub to eat on the way home. I have my fruitcake in the oven. It is starting to rain, and I am going to bring in the five kittens that I took in recently. It is going to rain and be miserable for the next few days. They are in a big outside cage because they were wild when they came here, but I am afraid the wind will blow the rain and get them wet, so they are coming in. The rest of the day I plan to straighten up in the house and do a couple of loads of clothes. Just two of us here, but I wash clothes every day...at least one load. I put the horses in the barn lot, so they are already up (and eating hay) so all I have to do is feed them this evening....and the hogs, dogs, cats, coons and possums.

Unboxing still. Unloading and reloading dishwasher and washing machine etc. Repeat lol. Right now I am reclining in my new chair with Mia in my lap wrapped up in her blanket. She is not feeling well today and is demanding I stop working and hold her. Apparently not doing so is considered animal abuse in her world lol. Being the loving fur baby mommy I of course stopped working! We are both enjoying the rest. We are supposed to be getting a lot of rain this weekend with flood warnings likely. It will be a good time to get a lot of indoor stuff done. Hopefully the rain will be minimal with no flooding.

I met a friend for lunch in a nice restaurant. We enjoyed coq au vin and the lovely Christmas decorations. I decided to puree some of the carrots and celery in the chicken soup I made yesterday. This morning I vacuumed the kitchen, threw the kitchen mats in the washer, and cleaned the stainless appliances in an attempt to distract me from hunger. I had a late morning appointment for routine blood work and had to fast. It all turned out well. Now I am relaxing in the garden room enjoying your company.

I'm proud to say that today I finallllly finished reorganizing my linen closet. It appears I have a thing for tablecloths and I can't seem to let go of them, especially the ones with which I grew up. This was a job I've been hoping to do for over a year!

I worked. Then I went to get my eyebrows and lip waxed. Then I went to buy a Christmas Centerpiece. Then I came home and did laundry and cleaned. Now I am finally taking a few moments and I am reading and having a glass of milk.

Dh said he'd help me set floor tiles. I laid out the design and cut the ceramic tiles yesterday. He'd sit on the floor smearing adhesive, I'd hand him the tile and keep the pattern in check, making needed cuts. He took off @ 11am from work, meeting me at Home Depot where we picked up our order, a vanity, that just came in. For our lunch, I brought a breakfast casserole I baked yesterday in a baking marathon(baked an Italian Shepherds pie(mashed fresh potatoes) , breakfast casserole(made from scratch biscuit dough) and pecan bars). After 6 hours of laying tile, we couldn't get home. Yeah. A light snow had turned to ice and they closed roads. We were turned around twice by police barricades. Everyone drove 20mph when we weren't just sitting/parking lot, crashes everywhere, sheets of ice, finally found a side street that was not closed. Took us 1.5 hours to drive about 10 miles.

Finished reorganizing the shelf that holds the canning jars, I canned a bunch of chicken breasts the other day. Have finished my fling with carbs and am back on keto so canned chicken/meats will be very useful.
