I'm going native...please help me take inventory.
Comments (7)Thank you so much! I'm very excited about the black cherry. As it turns out, it's in a perfect spot to grow into a mature tree, and I thought I was going to have to buy a new tree for that spot. I'm going to take some close up pics of #3 this evening - it's starting to grow some interesting clusters of what I assume are buds. I think this could help identify it. Thanks again......See MoreI.D. Please, Florida Native plant
Comments (4)I've sent the picture to a bunch of plant experts. Do you have the nursery name where you purchased it? Perhaps the owner would know more than the clerk. Where in Florida, if I may ask. The people to whom I've sent the photos are well known experts and curators at arboreta. Some work in Florida....See MoreNative plant in AR - please identify
Comments (4)Are the leaves pretty much in the shape of a circle? I think I know what you're talking about. p.s. I teach at the college in Heber Springs, on the other side of the lake....See Moreplease help identify this native, and sorry its sideways
Comments (8)Thank you I agree its probably Red Baneberry .. there are fluffy white roundish flowers at the top .. I was confused because some plants which I know to be Red Baneberry don't have the tall grey stems but perhaps the short ones are babies and/or don't get as much light. This particular one is in Central Park NYC which I think is zone 6, mine are in zone 5 CT which is typically about a month behind NYC. Thank you!...See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
