Introducing Myself and Seeking Kitchen Advice
Comments (25)I too have Bianco Antico. It's faaaabulous. It really goes with a lot of colors. You can put pear green with it (which is my accent color in my house), chocolate brown, creams, whites, silver, gray, taupe, etc. etc. It is one of those granites that although it is busy, it is really open to a variety of decorating ideas. I struggled with my backsplash for quite some time with this granite. Yes, I think I'm close to being blacklisted on GW for all of my questions. But as I was closing in on the final tile--a miracle happened--I won a backsplash after entering my kitchen in a contest. The tile I won is perfect for my space. Bianco Antico varies from slab to slab--no matter what the fabricator says. I did not want one that had a lot of black and taupe in it. Mine is primarily brown, with taupes and grays in it. Here's a picture of mine: oh and another:...See MoreHas anybody had Caesarstone calacatta nuvo countertop installed?
Comments (59)What are good wall colors for this combination? I'm installing a Calacatta Novo countertop with white high-gloss IKEA upper cabinets and Voxtorp walnut look base cabinets. Using simple 3x6 white subway tiles for backsplash with gray grout and Rawtech white tiled floor (looks like light concrete). I'm thinking of introducing some greige to shake things up instead of a more typical white like Simply White or Cloud Nine (which looks great in the pictures above!) - Worn Leather Shoe, Upper West Side, or Quicksand looked interesting in the Benjamin Moore online program. Any tips?...See MoreCaesarstone Cosmopolitan White - has anyone used or seen this?
Comments (24)I absolutely love my Cosmopolitian White countertops - I have it in my condo with white ikea cabinets and I love the combo. It’s definitely beige, and not grey - my walls are “BenMoore Dove Wing” and it’s looks fantastic I stressed over this so much! But I’m thrilled with the results. My mom put Eternal Statuario (Silestone)in her kitchen and it’s nice with the white cabinets - but I love the subtle contrast of Cosmo White. Naturally we stress because there are so many choices (too many!). In reality a lot of them are nice so just go with your gut and don’t over process, that’s my tip....Looking back, of course I can say that now! All the best!!...See MoreCaesarstone Statuario Maximus
Comments (46)I agree with you, Hannah--I'd go with the SM. I, too, wanted something transitional; not too traditional but also not overly modern, so we looked at the CN as well but felt like the veining looked too manufactured, whereas the SM looked more natural like natural stone (we had granite in our previous home and really did love that but couldn't find any white granite this time around). And while I haven't seen CN in person I can say that we love our SM and get many compliments on it. The veining is beautiful and is neither too pronounced nor too subtle. Our cabinets are white white, so I'm not sure if that's as white as your Arctic White but they definitely aren't cream, and we think they look nice with the SM. Our island is just stained knotty alder but the pewter island will be beautiful with it! All of that said, though.. if you decide to go with the CN, I am certain your cabinet choices will look beautiful with that as well. But yes my opinion was that the CN wasn't bold enough (SM at first seemed almost too bold to me but that's because we were used to boring counters, and I'm so glad we decided to go for it because we love it and it's definitely not too bold)....See MoreRelated Professionals
