Need help W/Tile selection for bathroom

Hey all - So, currently redoing my bathroom and as you can see in the picture it's completely gutted. My question is, my wife & I are pretty much set on this tile the top 3 smaller would be for the bathtub/shower and the larger one would be for the floor. The product is mayfair statuario anatolia 4x12 for the bathtub and 12x24 for the floor (polished for this one so not slippery).

My big question is, we are going to be going with one of these tubs...

1. Kohler Archer K-1123-RA-0

2. Kohler Villager 5FT cast iron

3. American Standard Cambridge Americast Soaking tub in white

The question, these tubs are all white...I just want to make sure the tile will not look bad with the white tub. The other question is does anyone have/have a preference out of those 3 tubs? 98% of the time it will be used for a shower, but when we have kids the kids will use as a tub, which is why we opted for one of those vs a stand up shower.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The tile you are considering should looke nice with a white tub. My daughter used a similar tile in her hall bath and has the Kohler Archer tub. Her porcelain tile is Daltile's Florentine Carrara. The background of the tiles has a bit of a gray undertone but I think it still looks fine with the white tub.

I've posted pictures of her bath numerous times but you'd have to do a search to find them so here they are once again.

You can see pretty well in this pre-grout picture that the tub is whiter

My daughter went with a very light gray vanity but with a black countertop.

I think the only thing you need to be concerned about when using the imitation marble on the floor and walls and using real marble on the countertop is that the real thing might emphasize the "faux-ness" of the tiles. You may want to look at other white/light countertop options.

As far as you floor tiles go, it is my understanding that polished tiles are more slippery than matte tiles so you might want to double check that.

Oh and regarding the Archer tub, my daughter loves it. Because it has a high overflow drain the water level is deeper than most tubs. Great for soaking. The tub is still easy to step over for showers.

And if you ever do have kids, look how many tub toys can be placed along the side edges.

Meant to add in that we are going with 2 Kohler 20x26 recessed medicine cabinets and a 72inch vanity (still deciding which one), but going with a gray base and probably a white carrerra marble on top and will end up painting the bathroom probably a darker gray or some tone of it.

White is classic and will work with anything. You'll be fine with it.

Is this your only bathroom in the house?

I saw this tile in a shower for a girls bathroom and thought it was cute. It was for alittle bit older girls but if they like the beach and shells it will grow with them. The trim only is glass tiles and the shell inserts. Not sure if you can see the inserts well. They are all different. I hope so. Good luck with your planning. Natebear and snookums2 thanks to you both for commenting. I like the oval and that was always going to be the mirror, the one with the frame #1. Then I found that frame material and it looks lovely with my paint choices and the marble. The vanity will be painted a semi sheen light med gray. The walls are a light gray. Both will have blue undertones that really pick up the hints of blue in the finish on the frame. The sconces may have to go. I really like them but they are bigger than I thought they would look. I bought them online. The vanity will take up some of the depth to help offset the size of the sconces I think. The location of the sconces are set, but the style may have to change. The #s1 and 2 seem safe to me. #8 I am liking now, but it changes moment by moment! HElp! I will not commit to the mirror until the vanity is in in a week or 2. But I want to get some input with what I am thinking, and you guys always come through with great feedback.

I would do a search here for the following terms: "marble on shower floors" "marble stains" "iron stains in marble" "marble not drying" If you do a bit of reading, the common result you will see, is that marble is not the best product to use for shower floors or walls. My master bath was all done with tile from Walker Zanger, but I used their porcelain and glass tiles for products that are durable and easy to clean. I am willing to squeegee the whole shower after I use it, but not something that my husband or kids would do, so products have to be chosen with all family members in mind. I am now doing 3 more bathrooms, but went with a competitor of WZ in my area, as they have many of the same product lines, but had better pricing.

Thanks for the help guys. We actually like the floor and want to stick with that color family/look. Also we are doing it ourselves so no tile installer and the budget is fairly limited as we are already replacing an exhaust fan and doing some plumbing work once we have the shower ripped open. Are you advocating away from the idea of a contrast between the shower wall and the floor? We though it would look nice to have them not be the exact same but we aren't totally sure.

Appreciate the feedback! It's the only full bath. I have a half bath downstairs with the option of adding a tub if I wanted making it a full, but the ultimate goal is adding an addition and putting a master bath in there.

Badgergal: LOVE the tub-toys photo. Kohler should pay you for that idea - and have an ad for that tub with the toys around the sides! Seriously, it's a great benefit of that tub that I've never thought of (except when the kids stuff, bottles, etc. need to fit somewhere) when shopping for a tub. Way easier/cheaper than doing extra wall shelves/niches/etc. And the child can reach them better than a higher up shelf.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a hexagon style small piece to kind of break this up, but also looks like it goes?

So, ended up switching the tile. Our vanity top is a marble so decided not to make things so white on the floor. Went with the Carrara for inside the shower nice big tiles.

I know this is a bit old, but we are looking at the exact tile (almost identical remodel...even down to tub choices!) Do you have any after pictures? I'd love to see them!

Beautiful bathroom! did you do a "reveal" when you finished? If you didn't, its not too late. Include products used, and how things are working for you. I love the floor with the counter.

Nice job! Looks like you went with the archer tub. How do you like showering in that? I am debating the same archer vs villager tub.....

@Enduring I did actually on another thread of mine. I did the whole process and pictures throughout the whole thing so it's a before and after.

@dominos the archer is 100% worth it. I was thinking going villager too, but so glad I was able to fit the 32 archer because it's huge.
