I have done research but I still need help
Comments (4)Chances are that they are super complex. In which case their rest and chill requirements have dissipated in the intricate web of genetics they now have (which have probably been intended to by-pass these requirements). If you must know, you could do a bit more research and find the cross make up. Keep going until you get to a primary cross and make a tree, do some math and figure out how much biggibum or phalaenopsis is in each and how much you think it matters after you figure it all out....See MoreI shouldn't have done it, but now need help.
Comments (5)Majesty palms like lots of water, fertilizer, and epsom salts. I have one and its doing wonderful, put it in canadian spagnam peat moss so you don't have to water constantly, and before you water it everytime put about 1 teaspoon of all purpose fertilizer on the soil, and put 1 teaspoon of epsom salts with the fertilizer, and then water until the water comes out of the drain holes. The canadian spagnam peat moss will turn light brown on top, and when it starts turning light brown it is time to water. I keep mine in partial shade, and this helps keep it from turning yellow. I use 15-30-15 expert gardener all purpose water soluble plant food. What I think causes the yellow leaves is not enough fertilizer, too much sun, and magnesium, and not using enough water will make them turn brown, and dry....See MoreI need painting color help..
Comments (3)I do have many samples up on the wall, these pictures were taken prior to me doing that. My walls are a rainbow of colors right now. We will be replacing all the tile in the house and will be restaining the banister to match the flooring. The kitchen is oak cabinets but those will also be replaced so the painting is keeping those changes in mind vs. going with what is in the house currently. We have to have the room professionally painted and I really don't want to live with dirty white walls until the upgrades. We just moved in 4 months ago and I slowing painting. Now I have pretty much settled on either Tobacco Road or Plantation Beige. I am loving both but I am also worried that the TB will be over powering in such a high room. I thought to put PB on the main room walls and then TB on the entryways and hallways but those don't get much light and I fear they will be to dark. I am thinking I will paint the dining room 1 of 3 colors: Svelte Sage, Saybrook Sage or Spanish Olive. These were all colors that I was considering for the main spaces but felt that they were to much of a green commitment for a space that will be painted only once. They look amazing with the two colors TB and PB.. I guess I need guidance on how to place the colors on the walls, is Tobacco Road enough of a Neutral to be put on the taller walls or will it be to gold? Also my trim will be White and I am playing with the idea of Dark doors with the white trims.. Thank you again!...See MoreHelp, I need experienced painting advice for a small condo ...
Comments (57)The painting was finished yesterday. Thankfully, it turned out so beautifully that my husband didn't cry too long when he got the bill. My painter couldn't help letting him know that the Benjamin Moore Aura paint I chose was the most expensive he had ever worked with. I had several minor issues with the painting team but nothing that I didn't get corrected and worked out. The big surprise was that the Benjamin Moore store mixed my paint wrong twice! That's right, the people that pride themselves on their color mixed one gallon of Edgecomb gray minus one of the colors and gave me a yellowy cat puke color. Of course because of the "north-facing-shadow" challenges, he didn't notice it until he had painted ¼ of the crown molding in one room and touched up baseboards in another. The second mistake was putting enough tint for a gallon can in a quart sized can of Revere Pewter. Now that mistake worked out well, because there seemed barely any difference between the Edgecomb Gray and the Revere Pewter except the RP looking muddy... so the darker quart actually worked better; and I put that color in the back of my book case. Otherwise EVERYTHING was painted the EG. I am still waiting for the enamel to cure so nothing can get put away yet. I'll post before and after pics once everything is back in place. And yes, I'm taking all the advice and editing and decluttering as much as I can. Thanks again everyone for all the very helpful advice....See MoreKathi Steele
