I've used microwave plates, a big punch bowl, and large heavy serving dishes for free-standing ones and vases and toothpick holders for ones being put on pipe. Copper pipe has gotten so expensive that I've been painting pvc conduit to look like copper and they fit better inside the vases and toothpick holders since they are thicker around than the copper pipe I usually use. I used Lexel to glue mine...longer cure time (3 weeks), but I am very happy with the reults so far. Here is a link that might be useful: Some of my totems

Sorry arcy, but you're totally wrong. It's never a waste of time when you create something that brings you pleasure. If you make it right, it will last a long time. I had another glass gem suncatcher that I had outdoors, mind you, for several years and managed to hold up very well hung under an awning. You could see it sparkle from blocks away. Eventually, we got rid of the awning when we got our new windows, so the suncatcher was put away. I did get constant compliments and a few orders for them from people in the neighborhood, so that was nice. The last suncatcher I made was up for 2 years, but I have recently restrung it, and it's so sparkly and beautiful worthy of your envy! I have never had any problems with them tangling up or glass breaking, and we are known as the Windy City!! You don't get that problem if you space each string slightly apart and of course hang each with a swivel, that way they don't crash into each other ever. I need to get new pics for you all to see.

I have one of an angel holding a bowl that you can put water in for the birds... We've had such a windy spring. She has blown over more than once.. Now her wings are broke off. I plan to use Gorilla glue. It expands as it is drying if you use it right out of the bottle. My nephew told me to mix a little water with it before I put it on. He said it makes it bond faster and it doesn't expand like it would full strength. So that is what I'm going to try. Also mine has faded to such an ugly color that I'm going to try to paint it when the glue is dry. It used to be kind of a green color and now is purplish blue. I think it is supposed to look like it was copper that has aged. That's what I'm going to try for. patti

Chris2009_2009, I'll try to answer your question though I'm not an expert by any means. Sounds like instead of 8 way hand tied springs, coil springs, s-springs, blue steel springs the furniture you are looking at has rubber webs to hold the cushions up. I may be wrong here but my best guess is check out an upholstered dining/kitchen chair, usually they have a webbing underneath them to hold the upholstered seating in place and give support. Of course the furniture could just be rubber/vinyl strips going from front to back or side to side like a lawn chair.
