College Football fans. FCS Playoffs set!!!!

We got a little lucky with the #1 ranking at the end of the season! DW & I traveled down to USD in Vermillion, SD. Bison finished the reg season by winning down there, finishing season @ 9-1.

Decided to leave here Thu evening after work, JUST ahead of a crappy weather system that was spooling up Thu nite & all of Friday! Drove to Sioux-Falls SD from Fargo. Spent 2 nites there, then on to Vermillion Sat am.... game day!

FCS Selection Show was today @ 10am CST. The field of 24 FCS Playoffs teams is now set. Thankfully, the road to Frisco TX goes thru the LOUD Fargodome again!!! We get this coming Sat off as a BYE, then play Dec. 3rd I believe.

Are some GW-favored teams in this mix?!???!

Well, you know I'm an FBS girl. SEC variety. Alabama, to be exact. I've always been impressed, though, with how the FCS makes a 24-team playoff work. For the FCS, I'll have to stick with Alabama teams and root for Jacksonville State and Samford (Samford(!)) Good for them.

Faron, I'm a college football girl, and like jakabedy, an Alabama (and SEC) fan in particular. Roots go deep here in our state, so I'll also be rooting for Jax State and Samford (who knew!) as I have lots of friends who are grads from both. But we wish you well. Your Bisons are might good again. Have fun!

We've got our own pedestal this year and have been on it all season (wow!). Have a big rivalry game coming up this Saturday against Auburn, not to mention the SEC playoff against Florida. On any given Saturday.... as a friend says. Roll Tide!

I donÂt think you will ever see a college football playoff nor do want one. I also think the NCAA wants one either for the same two reasons. A playoff would come right at final exam time. Student priority is school and do not need to be on a practice field or travelling to the next game. They need that time to study and prepare. Football is a brutal sport that comes with severe risk and very hard on the body. All it takes is that one game to end a potential NFL career, and the NCAA is not going to expose kids to that extra risk. The story has been repeated too many times. For example a young Miami Hurricanes by the name of Dwayne Johnson had a very promising career in the NFL until a game in 1991 ended it all. He played for two years in the Canadian Football league but was cut in less then two years; his injury prevented him from playing. Luckily for him he got a contract with the WWE like a lot of injured college football players and made a name for himself which you may know him as THE ROCK.

Go, Bison! I have to admit, where I am, if it isn't BCS (SEC, really, for that matter), then we don't pay attention. Here's to hoping my alma mater is able to join the Bison at #1 this Saturday. Roll Tide!

Well...we won!!! Still undefeated & #1 in NCAA FCS Football! It wasn't on ANY kind of network tho dammit!!! Only if your cable provider carried ESPN3.COM feeds, could you see it.....arrrrgghh! And of course, our Fargo-area Cable-One didn't carry it. Soooooo, had to resort to listening to it on the ever-exciting am radio.... I was just curious if there was any Indiana-State fans out there!??!?! Faron

Congrats! I love college football! Saturday is Bedlam. Oklahoma University vs. Oklahoma State University. Both excellent teams and top ranked. Only problem is, we're a house divided. My dh and I went to OU, the kids went to OSU. Oh, they'll be on national TV Saturday night!

This is how Bevo and I are feeling about our Longhorns, and it looks like Coach Strong will be fired after the season.

Oh yes!! Going to Frisco if they make it!! If so, it'll be our 4th consecutive year of attending the Championship game. Wild stuff! Many Bison faithful have already bought tickets, booked flights, etc. I wouldn't dare pull the trigger THIS early!

* The winner of San-Diego & Cal-Poly this Sat comes to the Fargodome on Sat Dec 3rd.

* The winner of Villanova & St. Francis (PA) this Sat, goes to our rival SDSU (in Brookings, SD...an outdoor stadium!) Sat Dec 3rd.

* Our loooooonnnggtime in-state rival (100+ yrs), UND (dome stadium), made it to the FCS-Playoffs this year! There's a TINY chance that we could meet them in Frisco!!! An all-ND FCS Championship?! THAT would be wild!!! Frisco, TX couldn't HANDLE all the craziness!!!

* Regardless...on Dec 3rd, since UND will host its game, AND SDSU hosting...AND my Bison hosting.....THREE FCS playoff games will be rocking on Northern I-29!!

3
