Does anyone sell plants and stuff in a garage sale or fundraiser?
Comments (17)I live in a small town where there's not a lot of perennials available from the nurseries. And lots of what's for sale isn't really for this zone. For several years I've had a perennial plant sale in the spring. Mostly divisions of whatever happens to need dividing at the time. Now that I've started this, it seems hard to quit. People stop me on the street and ask me when my sale is. I sell everything at a very reasonable price. I pot the divisions in used potting mix. It makes it easier to keep the divisions healthy until the day of the sale. Some plants were divided in the fall and are in pots sunk in the garden. It's a lot of work but I get to meet a lot of people who are very happy to get hardy perennials. Every year I say that's the last one, but I always have stuff that needs a home....See MoreGarage Sale websites
Comments (12)Terilyn, I had to laugh when reading the 'beg' part of your suggestion. There is a lot of begging going on in my locale also. I've donated cookware, appliances, clothes and food for needy families in my area, but on some days it seems as if there are more of those than any other topics. Sorry Bossyvossy, for getting sidetracked. After you log into Facebook, just search for 'your city name buy sell trade' (without the quotes) in the Facebook Search field at the top of the page inside the blue border. Click a link that shows up in the search that looks to be topic appropriate. You will usually find a 'join' button near the top of the page. The group admin will need to approve you. It should show up in your Groups or Favorites area on the left sidebar once you join. After joining a group of this sort, Facebook will show you suggestions on the right to find other similar groups. These groups are not all created equally, so you may need to shop around to find a good fit for you....See MoreFunny garage sale sign

Comments (37)I think you have great pieces to have a really great room. My problem is more with your current layout. I think if you moved the bed to the opposite wall where the mirror and table is the room would feel larger and more open. I feel that the natural walkway in any room should be from the door directly to the back of a room. I hate that the bed is blocking that natural path. Then you wouldn't have to deal with having the bed off centered so you can open and close the door. It's also a plus to be able to easily see the door from the bed. A queen bed is a plus in a guest room but if it's not in the budget at least get a headboard. You can pick them up real cheap at garage sales, thrift stores and Craigslist. Newer ones have places to use for both full and queen beds. Don't get a bed with a footboard. They tend to make the room feel smaller. I like the color of the sham you bought. fold your quilt in half the long way and place at the foot of the bed so it drapes farther down the sides. I like the idea of placing the mirror between the 2 doors. Full floor to ceiling drapes to soften the look with a nice comfy chair for reading angled in the corner across from the door by the windows to take advantage of the natural light and view. With this layout your rug is the statement piece of the room... the first thing you see when you walk in the room. I love that it is a family piece you want to use. My own guest room has things from my family and we call it grammas room. this picture was taken from the door in my old home showing the layout I'm suggesting with quilt folded at the end of the bed....See Morelucillle
