Currant bush didn't do too well...
Comments (5)Hi I have been growing currants for years and have all colors. Red are some of the easiest to grow. Did you mulch it? That is important. Also weeding your currant. I know we all had a lot of water this spring, but many currants Like mine, look rather dead right now but they are not. If you look closely and see tiny brown buds on the stems that means it has already set its leaves for next year. Wait until next spring and if there are no signs of growth start again. They are a great fruit to grow. Also next spring move your currant plant to an iron free pipe dripping area if possible. If there is another heat-drought situation, hand water. Nothing lives without water. Mrs. G...See MoreShy&Reclusive: Which did you think'd bloom this year, but didn't?
Comments (24)I had a few non bloomers. No Bloom this year but at least I still have it. But I do have one of those seedlings planted in Spring of 2010 shooting up a scape now. I really doubt it will be this late of a bloomer. Think the flood just has it messed up. Andrea...See MoreI didn't think this was going to be so hard!
Comments (32)OK ... you appear to love wood, especially DARK wood. It's nice! 1 - I like the granite and it's a calm flecked one so you can go wild with the backsplash if you want without the "warring divas" problem. 2 - The square mosaic is very interesting, the stone behind it definitely less so. What would a solid backsplash of the mosaic do? Not as an accent, but as the whole area? 3 - use a rug (get a washable one, or a floorcloth) under the table to define the dining area and break up the wood a bit. Pick one with colors that exist in the rest of the house. 4 - Paint walls asoft green, or blue (whatever blends well in your house) and pick up the colors in the rug under the table and a few accessories in the kitchen. Sit back and have a glass of your favorite beverage ... call it done!...See MoreHave issues, I didn't know I had...advise please
Comments (64)I had a look around for the maxibloom analysis and as the name (and low N %) suggests its not really geared for vegetative growth. The high phosphorus levels combined with additional P from phosphoric acid based ph down will increase the need for Mg but will also reduce the availability of Ca,Fe,Zn,Cu and K, which are directly linked to chlorophyll production. http://gh.growgh.com/docs/LABELS/maxibloom.pdf At 7g per US gallon you`ll have around 92ppm of N, 121ppm of P, 214ppm of K.and 64ppm of Mg. In comparison, Maxigro at 7g per US gallon will give you 157ppm of N, 40ppm of P, 214ppm of K and 37ppm of Mg Maxigro can be approximated by combining Maxibloom with calcium nitrate, potassium nitrate and epsom....See Moreken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5
