The LED fixtures don't have to be replaced per say. For instance, LED recessed light fixtures actually have a separate light mechanism. My understanding is that these can be replaced at any time. I have 6year old LED fixtures that are still going strong. They will only be replaced because I want a new fixture. That would be true for any incandescent fixture if I wanted a new look. Also, LED fixtures are engineered to handle the cooling needs of LED lighting, retrofits don't have that flexibility. In my home, I am starting to use Contrast Lighting LED recessed fixtures. I have seen the WAC LED fixtures in commercial settings and they are really nice. The dimming on LED fixtures is also better to my eye than the fixtures that I used with retrofit dimmable LED lightbulbs n them. There has been some discussion about this on the Lighting forum too. I am in no way an expert but this has been my experience. Good Dimmable LED light bulbs are very expensive. Good luck!

more or less any tulips will naturalise if you have the right conditions - ie, a hot, dry, sunbaked free draining scree or gravel area which, like bearded iris, allows the bulbs, even though under the soil, to be baked all summer. Winter rains will start the bulbs into root growth and temperature and light will initiate bud formation. It is, however, all in the conditions - no tulip, even the fabled darwins or species, enjoy being swamped by grass and they certainly will not respond to lack of sun. FWIW, I grow thousands of tulips on my open, free draining allotment although if I am less than circumspect about removing surface competitors, the bulbs will dwindle and finally fail. If you can replicate their natural growth conditions, they will prove reliably perennial (although I appreciate that many tulip lovers cannot provide neither the heat not light and often, not the soil. Pot grown tulips are often deeply unhappy since the light potting soils encourage early splitting so the tulips are already diminished in their second year. In England, at least, because they are so closely associated with other spring bulbs such as narcissus, they are frequently planted around deciduous trees (or in pots) where they will, indeed, flower...once. Unfortunately (for me) I am beginning to battle with that other issue relating to great numbers of single species plants - virus. The first streaks of tulip fire appeared last year so suspect the April displays on the allotment are numbered.

I like this one, and I doubt it's long enough for the tallest person to hit his head. The negative, of course, is that "closed at the bottom" styles collect bugs in the glass /must be cleaned out occasionally. This one's nice and basic and absolutely a good choice for low ceilings. It too will "collect bugs", but they won't be as visible. I like this one ... but ONLY if you have some other black in the room ... it can't be the only black item. Moravian star lights are taste-specific, but I like them! Again, I'd do this ONLY if you have another star somewhere else in the vicinity. This on-the-ceiling option would work at the entry ... the other, depending upon its placement, could be on a drop. Ehh, no. Yes, but I prefer the above /shorter star. This doesn't look like an entry light to me ... plus, I am not a fan of Edison bulbs. More expensive, shorter lifespan, and one of these days they're not going to be available. I'm also not loving the copper for this placement. I like the first one ... the others are a little "too much" for me. My preference would be for a recessed light. I would not want any kind of statement light which would draw attention to the low ceiling. Disagree. I think a recessed light would like "unfinished" in this spot. I like the 2nd light you posted. Silver always looks great with purple. I read that as blue, but either one looks great with silver.

@ci_lantro Oooh - I like that one too. Our iron door (not yet in our possession) will have 5 glass panels of what is called "water cubed" glass, so the varied glass on this fixture sort of fitting. The door will otherwise have very simple straight lines - black iron. I do have a first impression of this fixture seeming more Mission style - but I do see how it is very transitional (mid-century, craftsman) too. As much as I want to jump into this purchase so all these finishing touches can be in before move-in, this might be one best left until AFTER we have the cabinets, flooring, doors, windows, counters, paint, etc. in and done. I'm not a professional designer, but think I generally do pretty well figuring things out - this one just not getting that aha moment yet. I'm really a "less is more" person when it comes to design - bottomline, I want anyone walking into our home to NOT have to think too much - everything must be simple lines, have a sense of calm and belonging to the space, no clutter or stand-alone reason it is there. We will be using a luxury vinyl plank - WPC or SPC - which is another immediate issue of decision. So far I like the more realistic looks of Republic or SLCC brands, but I can't quite put the exact type/color together yet (grays with brown and black undertones I think will end up in the choice). Kind of want the choice to have a bit more modern than rustic look - will create a new thread for this dilemna, which I know many struggle with - knowing the stains for our beams and island will largely help me get this figured out.
