We only planted three or four broccoli plants. Of those, one was not planted deeply enough and never took off. The other three showed nothing until we had an enormous rainstorm about a week ago. My hubby took me out to the garden tonight so he could weed and I could cut the broccoli. Lo and behold--two large heads of it. This is the first time any broccoli we planted has done at all well. I don't know if it is the variety or the fact that I asked my hubby to plant the broccoli in one little patch, and the brussels sprouts as far away from that as possible. Also, one enormous artichoke plant is right next to the broccoli... Or could the broccoli have sensed that a pirate gourdlike bitter squash plant from wintered-over seeds was headed its way?

I guess ya'll are making it seem more understandable, I did hide the alfalfa under the mulch and they haven't bothered it yet, although the last time I put out bone meal I saw where something dug a little hole, didn't see who it was in action, but they obviously didn't find what they were looking for because it was only done to a couple of the roses :)

You never think it'll happen to you....or at least that's what *I* used to think. I've had my ***LOCKED*** 2003 Camry broken into twice in 12 months since moving to the East Coast. These guys have tools so they can get into your locked car as fast as you and I can get in WITH keys. Now, I don't leave anything in my car that I don't want to donate to the local drug dealers. People rag on the midwest, but when I lived in nowhere-land, Illinois, we just didn't have this kinda crime. We didn't have *crime* in our cozy little suburb, probably because half the residents were retired and on the lookout. Rose

It's definitely darker then what we have up now. very pretty color. I do really like the RP, especially this morning as we actually have a little sun poking through. It's amazing how much this color changes throughout the day. funcolors, I'm glad you chimed back in from the other post. I was thinking the same thing that the others are so close to each other, but wasn't sure if it was just my untrained eye. My husband came in with all the other samples pinned up and said, do you really think we need to spend another $120+ for that small of a difference. We will finish it up on Monday/Tuesday as we have to replace the baseboards and then I'll post another pic. I'll need suggestions for window treatments at that time ;) Love this board, you are all so very helpful!
