Advice appreciated for TV/Sofa layout in new living room..
Comments (3)Do you see potential problems with the couch/sectional not providing a lot of space between the hallway and the room? Or perhaps I need to find smaller furniture or move the couch closer? I think the previous owners also made the room a dining room, which is why the chandelier is there. However, not pictured is our kitchen that openly connects to a room with a fireplace, and we're planning to make that room the dining area. Thank you for your opinion!...See MoreFurniture Layout Advice- Front Door Opens to Stairs & Living Room
Comments (2)If accurate in your drawing, I am assuming you are leaving the space behind the sofa for a walk way. I’m not in favor of that because everything is off-center. Position the rug directly in the middle of the room, sofa on long wall, love seat under back windows and to balance the two seater on the other end, add two chairs. Ikea piece to the right of the fireplace and something above it to balance the window. Remove the brown table left of fireplace and add a smaller Ikea piece in white for this effect: (except mirror goes over larger piece)....See Moreliving room furniture layout advice

Comments (6)@Beverly- agreed. We have been setting it up with a sofa floating in the middle (pointing down on the drawing), roughly just above where you drew a line, and making the lower half of the diagram our living room; while using the top half as an alternative walkway option. All of the doors in the room go to separate rooms, except the two on the top left, which go into the kitchen (lower of the top left doors) and dining room (upper of the left doors)- rooms which are connected to each other, so potentially the door on the upper top left could be closed off. However, I prefer not to, as it gives a more open feel with windows next to the door in both the living room and adjacent room. It's a jigsaw puzzle!...See Morecpartist
