Tuberous and non-tuberous begonias

Can anyone provide some tips about how to tell a tuberous begonia (that I can overwinter completely dormant) from one that isn't tuberous? Even when I've dug up ones that I
know are tuberous there's not always an obvious tuber in the soil. I
have a few different types and I can't tell by looking at them - like
the one in the pic. Any advice would be appreciated.
