Help decorating living rooom

I need help decorating my living room (wall art, window treatments, accessory colors, etc). Paint color (Balanced Beige), carpet, sofa (light blue) and other furniture are not changing. Room has high, vaulted ceilings and room gets a lot of natural light. I want to get a fresh look to the room. Ideas are welcomed!

Several years ago, I was in a similar position with my family room. We had basic furniture and a few misc pieces, but not much else. It really was a blank canvas. I found a single vase that I loved--the color, texture, shape--and I used it as my inspiration piece for the entire room. The vase shape dictated the accessories of the room, its colors dictated upholstery and drapery and pillows, and so on. The whole room came together based on that vase.

So my suggestion would be to find a single piece of art or a fabric that you really like and want to incorporate into the room. Then, use the style/color of the piece to lead you to the next step (drapery, pillows, additional art, etc.). Sometimes, looking at a room as a whole is overwhelming, when just a single piece of inspiration can provide more guidance.

If it were me, I would get rid of the corner unit and put in a console, no wider than 16", on the wall where the pictures hang. You could put your phone on it and have drawers for your junk too. I would also mount the TV on that wall on a swivel arm that way you can watch TV from the kitchen if you want. I live in a tiny house too and believe me when I tell you that adding any additional furniture will make your room feel cluttered and even more tiny. If you choose to paint the console I would paint it the same white as your radiator cover and it will fade into the background the same way the radiator cover does. Right now your color is on the floor, so to bring it up to eye level I would add some rusty orange pillows to the couch and the picture you posted which is beautiful by the way. Just make sure it is big enough.

I see a few things that aren’t horrible, by any means, but could be changed. Mirror and sideboard, for instance, as mirror is too large for the sideboard and it overwhelms the room, reflecting the t v. Try the art over the sideboard and add a floor lamp where the plant is, as it will do double duty for the sofa and the art. Have you ever thought about adding a floor to ceiling strip of trim to separate the dining area from the living area and painting that wall a color? Something like this with a couple of white shelves on that wall?

IMO start with that sectional the is too be for the space where you have it. Why is the TV scrunched in the corner when you have ahuge wall it could go on if you got new furniture that fits the room A 12' wide room is not huge and we have no clue about size of anything , size of TV how mwnat seats you need ?I have no idea how you can possibly play games when the table is almost tight to the sofa. I agree with both Jan and Yvonne . The sofa size is a must since it and the TV need to move for sure.

You're saying the paint, carpet, and sofa aren't changing and you want help with accessories & colors, etc. I hate to say it, but the three main anchors in the room are fighting with each other (colors) and it's hard to recommend other colors when they're not working together.

I can totally understand not replacing a sofa or carpet and I can understand not wanting to repaint for a variety of reasons, but this is where I would make a change.

Your carpet is boss and if you want to stay neutral you're going to need something with the same pink undertone. I have the same brown/tan carpet with a pink undertone (as do many people in the world with 'neutral' carpet and tiles, etc.) throughout a large part of my house. Look at BM Muslin, BM Shaker Beige, or BM Patience.

Your sofa is reading green on my monitor, but you say it's blue. I'd start by changing the wall color and work to add more blue and cream to the room.

Do you have any inspiration photos? Does your style lean traditional? Do you like patterns? Prefer solids?

If you really don't want to paint the option would be to layer a pattern rug on top of the carpet and make sure it has all the colors in and just keep repeating the colors throughout the room to make it look more intentional.
