Where to buy individual ceiling tiles?

I've got a leaky roof that has caused some ceiling tile damage, and so I need to get new tiles. I only need about 8 of the 12" square tiles, but it seems that I can't find a vendor who sell them individually (although maybe I could try my trusty local hardware shop), including Home Depot & Loew's; they will only sell a huge box of them, leaving me a bunch of tiles I'll probably have no use for (i.e., as my next home will be a regular ceiling.) As well, Amazon only sells them in a big pack, and amazingly, no one on eBay is listing them individually (i.e., a lot of times, there will be some seller who buys stuff that can only be bought in big quantity and sells individual pieces for 2X the price.) The tiles have an imprinted wavy design and say "Armstrong 258F".

I Googled your tiles. They are only $31.00 a pack.

Is that the place in Buffalo, NY? I'm sure the shipping cost would add about $15 to the net price. It turns out I can buy them from Loew's online and pick them up at the store for about $49 (including tax). I only need 1/4 of these. I guess I could buy them and put out an ad somewhere to sell the remaining ones. It seems that I could also get them individually at Menard's, but their stores are very far away from me and they don't ship.

mdwstgrl - the compliment is returned - your kitchen is beautiful and the travertine equisite. I'm sure foodonastump (what a fun name) will enjoy the pic too since tile to the ceiling is preferred. Although lovely to look at, we do not want to do tile ... so I'd say we are not married to stainless steel but we are definitely divorced from tile. kwilson50 thanks for sharing your experience with quickshipmetals.com Re the kitchen... Tile Shower with a Corian Ceiling...doable or just tile?

Babka: We had a fan...not on a timer so who knows if the teenagers ran it every time they showered. We installed a larger unit recently when the heating/ventilation co. was here for the upstairs remodel; the fan is in the main bathroom area instead of the shower. Our concern is the low height of the shower ceiling...it is less than 7 feet. I prefer an open shower design the way an alcove bath is placed with a curtain because of the moisture issue; DH wants to recreate the basic design of the old fiberglass shower but make it longer and use a partial wall and glass to enclose the long side with a narrow opening so no shower door I fear that his design will simply recreate what we had...moisture tended to stay trapped in the shower area. Even with a more powerful fan, I am afraid if his design prevails...we will have moisture issues on the ceiling again. The tile setter suggested tiling the lower ceiling to eliminate the potential issue. Of course, the tile setter/shower installer loves my husband's idea...more tile work. I concur that the half-tiled wall and glass combo would look great (it should since it will be more expensive), but I am remodeling to fix a problem and enhance resale possibilities.

Emrit, I stole a slate tile fireplace for your room. Actually, the original photo was a bit too gray, so I warmed it up a bit. You'll have to get tile samples and bring them into your room to see how they look in your light.

That's not the same one, and it's not a good copy, although if it were used for the entire ceiling it would be OK. I've thrown in the towel and just bought a 40 pack it from Lowe's online.

I'm waiting to get some time to go out there with a hose and see where the leak it. There is a roof joint there (i.e., a sidewall-roof interface) that I think is the culprit. Of course, I will not install the tiles until that is fixed.

you should take pics and post of this interface. esp the flashing on the side of the sidewall.

OK, I have found the leak; it it in the joint. I'm getting my regular carpenter to come address it (I presume by putting some type of caulking there).
