Sorry kitchen folks- Do you have a Air or Jetted Bath Tub?
Comments (12)I have a large 2 person jacuzzi 6 foot tub. It is the bellavista. It has 8 jets and an in-line heater. The heater is a must as the water stays nice and hot. I love the big tub and am planning on getting a maax kashmir freestanding tub for my new home. It has air & jets. The new tubs have the drains for the jets at an angle so they drain better. That was the problem with most of the bacteria build up. My tub is about 5 years old. I also have an outdoor hot tub that I can't live without. I have chronic pain and they both do wonders for my health. I highly recommend them both. I know that the big tubs take up a lot of room in a bathroom, but it all comes down to want you want. It is a choice that I have been very happy with....See MoreBathroom renovation--tile direction for bath tub wall and floor
Comments (7)There are no hard and fast rules for tile orientation. You can run them whichever way looks best to you. My daughter and my son both recently redid their bathrooms and put 12x24 tiles stacked vertically on the walls. They didn't have to decide on vertical vs horizontal for the floor because they used 24x24 squares on the floor. In my bath I have 10x13 vertical on the walls and 18x18 on the diagonal on the floor. IMO the large square tiles make their small floor spaces look bigger. Do your tiles come in squares too? Maybe you could put them on the floor. If you stay with the 12x24s on the floor placing then horizontal ( long side parallel to the tub may make your room look wider). You can still put the wall tiles whichever way you want. Here's a couple shots of my DD's tiles Good luck in your remodel....See MoreWhat do you have on the wall above your master bath tub?
Comments (28)I have 2 windows (with faux wood blinds covering them thank you) at right angles above the tub in the master bath, so no wall art there. However, I do have a prominent piece of wall separating 2 mirrors over our vanities.........This wall is crying for something but I haven't found it. The other day, I saw some really pretty decorative wall clocks and have been thinking about that. For some reason I wasn't sure if it would be odd to have a pretty wall clock hanging there, although honestly it kind of makes sense. What do you think? The ones I saw (at Ross or TJMaxx) were round and had nice detailed frames. I am linking a nice substantial one I just saw on the o site, just wondering what the decorating experts here think of a decorative clock as a piece of décor in a bathroom.square not round but a pretty clock...See Moretwo bathrooms - one with only shower, one with only tub
Comments (5)it's tight, for sure, but because it's pretty upright, that particular tub has a good volume of water to get under. I can't find an alcove tub with the same depth (that one is 19 inches to overflow) and sitting area front to back. I also only have 32 inches to work with, so there isn't room for the drop in tub with the deck around it. for better or worse, this might be the direction we're going in. We're going to look at some designs tonight, and the designer mentioned that he had a good example of the size shower we could do if we took the tub out of the master with some creative storage added to the side to make the shower a more reasonable size. I know the freestanding tub would be squished a bit and it would be tight, but I think as far as compromises go it's not bad. We get the big fancy master shower. we'd have to use a tub this size even if we put it in the master, so it's just a matter of where to put it. If we put it in the separate bathroom, we still have a soaking tub spa retreat and I could really lean into a cozy spa feeling. and we don't have to make it do double duty as a shower since we have three and a half other bathrooms....See MoreJo Ann Radford
