mwheel: Congrats on 57 years! Impressive! Krista Marie: How's the life of you as a single gal going? I was dragging a bit this morning... on account of last night... I was so groggy, in fact, that I forgot to make espresso before I left for work, which made it even worse! I laughed as I cleaned up from our little party. I had to send an email to the four mommies who brought their families saying that I found a couple of forgotten items while I was cleaning up. Specifically: a silver bracelet and (ahem!) a pair of handcuffs. The handcuffs were left by my neighbor's son, but we all had a giggle over it. Steve is ramping up a major travel jag. The poor man is going to be racking up a stupid amount of frequent flier miles in the next few months (on top of the stupid amount he already has). His company was recently acquired, and he's working hard to ensure the new people understand what a resource he is. Apparently, they do, because they want him to be everywhere. I can't complain too much: I'm cashing in some of his miles in November to join him in Nice, France for a week. I still don't know what I'll be doing all day while he's in meetings, but my French is respectable and I've been there before (20 years ago) so I'm sure I'll figure it out between now and then.

So happy to hear you were able to plant a rose bush without pain and without pills. Just don't overdo. Went to the wholesale shrub nursery - 6 gardenias; 1 Star magnolia, 1 flowering quince (funny the things I miss), 1 Miss Kim lilac, 1 Longwood Blue caryopteris. I planted 12 gardenias - well actually I dug up six and moved them and added 6. I had planted 12 small ones across the front of the house last year - 3 each under each of the soon (I hope) to be erected arches for the climbing roses. Its not winter that kills gardenias it is big guys with big feet and a bag of 10-10-10. The ones left had increased in size enough that they are pretty safe from big feet, so I bought larger bushes and am trying again. Other than that I pruned a bit and dug up onions (we have such a crop this year) and watched the bluebird Mr. and Mrs. fly in and out of their house (our first bluebirds). Went to see 300 and then caught the special on the History channel. Nice weekend if a bit cold and windy here. With daylight savings time I can get in an hour after work most days.

Yeppers it's hot that you know what down here in Texas but that's the norm for us but I love the winter's here LOL. No rain for sometime and none in the near future. The heat chases me inside now that I'm matured and getting into the golden years. I have high blood pressure for about 1 1/2 yr's and noticed that I cannot take being in the sun or heat like before. Some people don't notice it like my DH. His is worse than mine. Then one day I was listening to the News and they said people with high blood pressure should stay out of the sun. Only thing that saved my DH was going in for a sleep test. They could not get his blood pressure down all night. So when we went back to the doctor for the test results I told her about his blood pressure, So she checked it and it was high, then she went back to look at his chart and every time he went in for his check up it was high. This was upsetting for me cause you'd think the doctor would pay close attention to your charts. With that said only time I get out is early morning and late evening's.

I really like Scatterbrain, not sure why I don't have that one. Lavender memories is gorgeous! I've got Lady Neva, can't wait til it clumps up better, it always has nice blooms. And whoa, look at the buds on CG!
