LG washer shrinking clothes on cold! Please help!
Comments (102)@penny g I now have a first-hand LG service reference (meaning I am onsite) with a friend who bought a 2012 LG refrigerator via Facebook Marketplace several days ago upon moving to a house from an apartment. Immediately upon connecting to power, it runs but doesn't cool. Either a) the compressor is bad internally and not pumping refrigerant (freon) or b) all the refrigerant has leaked out. Someone worked on it previously per evidence of a tap valve on one of the compressor lines and those service taps may leak. He contacted LG service online either Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. Later Sunday received confirmation of the contact. Monday received a confirmation of a service tech coming the next day Tuesday (today. Tuesday morning confirmation of between 1p and 5p. Tech arrived at 2:30p on Tuesday ..... Sunday --> Tuesday timeframe. The tech advised that LG extended the warranty to 10 years due to known problems with the compressor but unfortunately can't do the repair at no cost because 1) it applies only to the original owner with sales receipt in-hand, 2) some other service had already done a repair evidenced by a refrigerant tap valve on one of the compressor lines. He said they would do it at full cost (which means the required parts for a 9yo unit are available) but that the cost is too high to justify....See MoreHoles in clothing - HELP?
Comments (290)Wow, so many theories! I also have had 4 tops purchased at a local boutique, and very expensive. All of them had pin holes, either before or after I washed them on delicate in mesh bags. And, all of the pin holes or larger are located at the bottom area or around or under the belly area. I am clueless. The fabrics are mostly cotton, very thin fabric. One brand name is, XCVI and the other is Free People. So, we are talking anywhere from $58 to $65 for a stylish very thin summer top. I have returned 2 XCVI tops and will be returning another one today as well as the Free People top. I cannot see wearing something once and washing it on delicate and in a laundry bag in a front loading newer washer and resulting in having holes. I don't wear a belt or lean on the counter when I wash dishes. As far as laundry detergent, I usually use Tide and have used it for several years. I am baffled and bummed out, I love this one top. But, seriously, I do feel that the fabric is cheaply made or this problem of pin holes would not occur. We live in Northern CA and do not have bugs in the house. My boyfriends $5 Walmart T Shirts do not have holes! And, I pay like 10 to 15 times more for mine and they do.... This is just crazy. I will purchase new laundry detergent today, in the event that may be a deterrent. But, I believe it is the fabric being thinner and doesn't wear well. This may be coupled with the fact the manufacturers wish to have us replace clothing like everything else in our disposable world!...See MoreDoes anyone have built-in hampers
Comments (6)My hampers are in our Master Closet & are behind a cabinet door with tilt-out wire baskets. My husband & I sort our whites & darks there. I then take these down to the laundry room (newly remodeled, but not nearly as large as yours & no laundry chute). My sorting continues here as I bring in my 2 boys' laundry (not sorted) & towels, sheets etc. I have a counter & under it I have 2 laundry baskets that work into the scheme. I mostly use the counter for folding. It isn't terribly efficient, but it is sooooooooooo much better than it was (we added a foot when we remodeled the kitchen). I now have a sink, a broom closet & rod. Right now I am leaving an extra basket out for clothes that come off downstairs -- socks, school unitforms as we change for sports, etc. This summer managing the towels was a trip (as it always is). I'll try to post photos -- something I've never done. I've considered turning my Rev-a-shelf trash can into a hamper & put a smaller trash can under the sink, but since I am still getting organized I'm not making any major changes, yet. Good luck. (Sorry I can't make the picture work right now, plus the picture I have only shows stacked washer/dryer & sink. I'll attempt to take another picture over the next few days & see if I can make this happen.)...See Moreneed hamper solution.. please help..
Comments (3)HereÂs a white wooden double hamper, 35 inches wide, thatÂs particularly nice, because it tilts out, which means you can use it as a nightstand or console table, etc. ThereÂs a slightly narrower double, a triple, and a quadruple. IÂve used this company ÂHomeDecorators.com--several times (in fact, I have a cabinet thatÂs also "Hampton Bay," and its quality is fine. ItÂs assemble-yourself, but itÂs strong enough, and attractive) In fact, if you DO decide to order from that company, e-mail me, and IÂll give you my 15% off code that they just sent me (IÂm not going to use it) Home Decorators also has other tilt-out hampers (one w/ a drawer), and other plain, lift-the-lid hampers. HereÂs a really furniture-looking styleÂcarving, curved legs, cherry wood look. They have a Craftsman-style one, as well. Do a search on "hamper," and see what you find....See More- 10 years ago
