Penelope (musk) ID in question (with pics) - Attempt 2
Comments (16)Thanks, for the input. How different is Penelope's foliage from Cornelia's? Looking at pics on HMF I have impression Penelope has leaves a bit like HT or HP? Luxrose, I hope that parasols do not give you indigestion. :D Trouble is, rose that I got as Cornelia, is exactly how you describe - pink, strawberry ice pink. Now this one in question is clearly apricot-orangy, it even bleaches to apricot pinkish. Now blooms that developed in hot summery weather are even more orangy than the first ones! It really is in same color range as Felicia, which is again different than Cornelia's pink. Although maybe she got deranged from the full sun into some orange madness... I counted petals on it and got about 30+, so that's more than Penelope should have in any case. Whatever it is, it is pretty, but I probably should inquire about it in the nursery and look if they might be willing to send a replacement....See More40+ rose bushes..... unknown varieties
Comments (25)If it was my place, I would weed really good around the roses and wait for spring to see what happens and then document the roses as they start blooming. Kind of looks like there might be a fun rose treasure hunt out there....See Morewanted: part 3 springbank park, london, on, plant exchange 20
Comments (166)Hi Signet, I've potted up an alcea rugosa (?) butter yellow hollyhock with fig leaves for you. My downy wood mint seems to have disappeared too. I'm half way through potting things up :-p I've been potting up other stuff for my plant sale the following week. Thank goodness for my new potting bench that Matt finished on Saturday!! Now I can do 30 pots in the time it used to take to do 10 _and_ still be able to stand up straight! Thankfully the next half of the potting up is the easy stuff. The 17 small plants from cuttings which won't take long once I get my kitchen back. Looks like it won't be so crazy hot tomorrow, and even a bit cloudy, so I can send the houseplants outside for their summer vacations! Because of the fear of lily beetles, I'll just bag the lilies the day before the swap with no dirt attached. I had hoped to get the cannas and dahlias planted this weekend, but it was too hot, and the weeds in that section of the front yard have gone nuts. WMC1 & NavyGirl01 - is their anything on my list that you would trade for a green or a non pink echinacea? I just found a Stokes blue aster as I was weeding & digging up the Yellow toadflax for Lilac....See MoreMislabeled Austins at local lowes for $10.99
Comments (63)What are they yellow tagged as? I saw many tagged as Gene Boerner and I dug a bit, but no DA tags. I also saw one yellow tagged (can't remember the name) but it had another white tag reading Waiheke. You can tell the picture doesnt match the rose. I started feelin weird so I left. I would love to run into a Scepter d'Isle, Eglantyne or a JTO, though!...See MoreVaporvac Z6-OhioRiverValley
