Most nutritious: Leaf mulch or wood chip mulch?

I know that shredded leaves as a mulch decomposes much faster than wood chips, but I'm curious to know if one is more nutritious than the other, even though they both come from a tree.

The stores in my area sell cedar mulch (most popular for mulching). So I'm curious to know if leaves are a better option than cedar or wood mulch in terms of "nutrition."

Another question: About a week or so, I mulched my raspberry bed with shredded leaves, I found two snails. One of them was on a raspberry cane. I'm assuming that the leaves are attracting them. Can this become a problem in the long run?

I would like to use shredded leaves as mulch (if it's a better option) for my raspberry, cherry, blackberry, rose and flower plants. Can snail or slugs cause damage to these plants? Never had such problem with cedar mulch, which is what I've always used.
