size of H. paniculata Fire and Ice / 'Wim's Red'

Looking on line, I am finding size estimates of this H. paniculata vary considerably from 3'-5' tall to 6'-10' tall. My go-to source of reliable info, MOBot, doesn't have this one, and I can only find nursery info on it, which is often unreliable as far as size. Does anyone grow this and can tell me what size it grows when not pruned? Where I plant it will depend on how large it gets.

According to the patent application (PP26,500), it "reaches 1.8 to 3 m in height and width in the landscape" (6-10'). One of its parents, Pink Diamond', is perhaps one of the largest growing paniculatas (15'), while the other parent, 'Dharuma', is quite compact. Fire and Ice seems to split the difference between them if the breeder/hybridizer is to be believed :-))

We have several different paniculatas. This is one has larger stem diameter than some of the others and larger growing. I would expect it to be larger, definitely over 7'.

Yes, it seems to be absent in many places. I lost one 2-3 years ago and was looking forward to getting a new one from the same place (locally) but they did not 'get' it or did not order it last year and this year. This time of the year (June-July), I would expect to see the paniculatas for sale and, while they brought VS, there was no LQ. :o(

While we touch on Zebra, I've been trialing one. It's a naturally-occurring mutation of White Ball / Schneeball (F&E White Out). Because of the black stems, it grows a bit taller, because there's something with the genetics of black stemmed hydrangea that makes for longer leaf internodes. But fair warning, it's just as prone to mildew and the blooms also won't take any direct sunlight. And while we're on macs, there some red stemmed. Besides the obvious like Lady In Red / TnS and Bloomstruck, there is Oregon Pride (sport of Merritt's) as well as a couple in the Black Steel series called Zaza and Zambia (sold in conjunction with Zebra and Zorro but not in North America). And back to paniculatas, I believe Magical/Mystical Fire and Flame may have ruddy stems. These are Plants Nouveau / Novalis entries in North America.

If you llke the "Fire and Ice" concept and have a sun to partial sun 4' space consider the macrophylla 'Wedding Gown'. Missed or barely mentioned in most descriptions the red fall color phase can be astounding on this considered a "white flowered" beauty!

You could call it "Burgandy and Ice", "White Surprize", or ''Snow White Becomes Evil Queen"? Being a rebloomer I think many people trim it to get more white flowers and don't even know it has a fire phase too.

Thanks! It's beautiful . . . but won't work in my zone. Even the hardiest macrophyllas are iffy for me. I am not lacking in sunny space, so F&I, being H. paniculata, is better than a macrophylla in my garden.
