Comments (35)Thanks everyone!! phillyfeet, we really love the BlueStar range. It's everything that I thought it would be and has been performing really well. The cleanup has just been so easy too and probably the biggest positive surprise. You're going to love it! aries61, great question. We did a blind return in the bottom and use a kidney shaped pullout, I forget what its called. For the top, we purposely didn't add another stacked top in the corner because we were staggering them and it would have looked a bit strange. Cost played a role but also aesthetics when making these decisions. We also did not do a blind corner in the top cabinet, its simply finished and sealed off on the top and bottom. Cost was a factor, but we also simply didn't need it as we also have a large walk in pantry. Hah, to this day we still have a lot of drawers and cabinets that sit empty, First World Problems :-) Regarding the sink cabinet, we used a custom cabinet maker so it was built out to be bigger since we knew we wanted that bump out with furniture feet. It also accommodates the monster Kraus 32" sink perfectly. rebecca3142, Thanks! The hardware is Awesome! It's super heavy and has a perfect finish. And you simply can't beat the handle price of $2.70!!! The two others we were considering were at least $25 each, yikes! Here is a link, we went with "C" http://www.leevalley.com/US/hardware/Page.aspx?p=52891&cat=3,43520,43521,43538 For the knobs we were equally impressed, super heavy, well made. We went with "H" http://www.leevalley.com/US/hardware/Page.aspx?p=52423&cat=3,49938...See MoreKitchen Reno done! Before and after
Comments (48)Phaedrus29 - we are thrilled with Snow Storm. We found the counters to be the hardest choice, since we knew we wanted green shaker cabinets. We wanted something that wasn't too stark white, not too yellow, and didn't have veining like "fake marble" but some kind of texture to it. Snow Storm is PERFECT. It wears beautifully and cleans easily, and the very subtle tonal circle pattern is really nice. It is a very neutral white - neither grey nor yellow, but a little bit warm. It is perhaps the thing we are most happy with which is great since it was such a hard find! I can send you some more photos if you like, do you have an email?...See MoreModern Kitchen and More Reveal - Before and After
Comments (87)Weird - I didn't even notice that the number of pictures went way down. It's very good information for anyone doing a reveal thread who enjoys before/after pictures. All the pics are copyright (me), not anyone's site. With the laundry room we're caught between a rock and a hard place. It's in the garage right now, a long trek from anywhere and it's complicated but there are water/drain/dryer vent issues that cannot be reconciled at that location. To move the washer/dryer to the area with three bedrooms we would completely lose a bedroom or bathroom. We no longer plan on having it directly off the master bedroom, however by process of elimination it will either be off the master bathroom or (large) master closet. Luckily both areas are ideal in terms of utilities/venting and where laundry is generated, and they're reasonably easy to access from the other three bedrooms. Wish we could have a dedicated laundry room but the floorplan of the house pretty much eliminates that possibility....See MoreKitchen Reveal - Before and After Pics!
Comments (38)Awesome remodel! I had to go back and forth a few times to see what changed where.. lol. The fridge wall is much more usable and you added a wall dividing what I think is the living room, which really made a nice eating area and the brightness is so much better in there. Very nice!...See MoreAnglophilia
